No wind-up. Robert Elms has just announced on London station GLR that Nick Cave has added Bryan Ferry to the last night of the Southbank Meltdown Festival, July 2nd 1999, at the Royal Festival Hall. The gig seems to have various titles, The Harry Smith Project with guest Jarvis Cocker, seems to be the most accurate. Ive just booked tickets on 0171 960 4242, althoughthe Box Office guy couldn't confirm Bry's involvement. I called GLR and spoke to the guy who got it directly from Nick Cave that Ferry was playing. Might explain why he ducked out of that Euro-Jazz date same night. Am checking for more information.. Elms used to go out with Sade and studied at the LSE when I was there. He was (allegedly) a flash mockney git back then. So nothing's (allegedly) changed, you might say. Anyway, I've booked my tickets. I just hope we don't have to wade through a load of boring acts just to hear one cover version from BF. A decent repertoire would be a real mid-summer bonus. And let's hope he doesn't do Jealous Guy "for the fans". I suppose Jarvis is OK as a consolation. The odds at this stage for a last minute pull out? Evens I'd say. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 12:22:40 EDT From: ASchulberg@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] From Rolling Stone In the newest edition of Rolling Stone, Moby lists his raves. This is a good excuse to buy an album of his - something I've been meaning to do for ages. Loved the single "Go", loved his remixes of Eno's Nerve Net stuff but wasn't quite so keen on his Bond theme.
