Hello Jeffry I intended to reply to you sooner - sorry. You may have already had responses to your message. The release date for the new album has not been announced but since it will be an album covering 1930s songs and Bryan is performing 1930s numbers at two upcoming jazz festivals I think it's fairly safe to say the release is iminent. I'm sure I've seen the Archive and Live Collection on sale at online music shops - if I find it again I'll let you know. There is also an e-mail booking facility for Ronnie Scott's box office which might be worth a try (ronniescotts@ronniescotts.co.uk). Anyone else aiming to go to the North Sea festival instead of Montreux? Gareth (heading to the travel agents to look for the cheapest flight) Come Gareth we're going to the Hague and we want to see you. Off for a few months? Where are you going? Isn't it possible to subscribe at the place where are you going. Any other boys and girls are planning to go to the Hague besides Frank? BTW I bought my tickets today and the festival magazine says that Bryan will appear with a 9 piece band but no names are mentioned. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 May 1999 17:36:09 -0400 From: "Decophile" Subject: Re: [AVALON] - -----Original Message----- From: gareth mc ginley To: avalon@smoe.org Date: Friday, May 14, 1999 10:10 AM Subject: Re: [AVALON] > >Anyway I'm off now for a few months but here's hoping that we'll all meet up >in Montreaux. > >Gareth (heading to the travel agents to look for the cheapest flight) > I sure hope someone will bring a DAT recorder......and NO flare guns! Apparently they have recorded a "covers" album due for late summer release (mail order only at first). Here is the track listing. It looks pretty cool to me. I trust the significance to this list will be evident; >1- Cortez (N.Young) >2- Life's A Gas (Bolan) >3- Friction (Television) >4- Silver machine (Hawkwind) >5- All The Young Dudes (Mott) >6- Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult) >7- Ritz (Cockney Rebel) >8- Venus In Furs (Velvets) >9- In Every Dreamhome A Heartache (Roxy Music) >10- Its All Too Much (George Harrison) >11- Desdemona (T-Rex) >12- The Porpoise Song (The Monkees) Be well. My first posting, after a lot of lurking (so be gentle!) iMVS in the UK suggest that Bryan's solo album 'In Your Mind', which is currently out of stock will be remastered and re-released with a projected date of 31st August so it would appear that the solo back catalogue material will also now appear. They also suggest that Dance With Life will get a December release in the UK (could this be a movie tie-in, as it seems a little strange to release this after 3 year's in cold storage? Take this news with a pinch of salt I'd advise.)
