It sounds very promising - keep checking the website. Hopefully it will be up and running pretty soon now, if for no other reason than to promote the launch of the re-mastered back catalogue being released in phases starting 1999 - since we're now into May this must surely be imminent(??) Whenever I think of Bryan's most 'romantic' output these two songs always spring to mind along with the likes of "Running Wild" and "Just Another High" - there's obviously something about closing tracks on Roxy albums! Incidentally, I have just returned from doing a presentations course (and waded through 120+ 'avalon' e-mails - phew). I had to do four presentations as part of this - one about me and three of my own choice. The first was about my son's school and the second was about work but for the last I wanted to 'lighten up' so I chose Bryan Ferry and waffled on to my audience of fellow delegates for 30 minutes (target 20 mins!). One of the things I hilighted was the changes in Bryan's musical styles and lyrics - pointing out the difference between "F.Y.P.'S" ode to a rubber doll and the far more sentimental content emerging in "Siren" just two years later. So interesting that the day after delivering this presentation I should read your e-mail on much the same subject! Regards, Richard - -----Original Message----- From: Gregory A. My condolances. This is truly sad. I loved that Christmas song. For an Ohio band, they sounded as California as it gets - to me at least. Speaking of "California" bands - has anyone heard of a band called the California Guitar Trio? I guess they had something to do with David Sylvian. Mark? I remember when he released and forgive me if I get this title wrong Another Time, Another Place that at the same time he recorded a bunch of Cole Porter songs and one can only imagine what else he's done and never been released. I keep hoping that Bryan will get some big honor someday soon like maybe a rock n roll hall of fame induction anyone? so there could be a resurgence of his music. He has put out several great solo albums and they are hard to find but worth it. I have a feeling his record company dropped his American contract and that you can only get his new stuff on import which are very expensive. He did a concert here in Chicago a few years back for the Monday to sunday album and it was a really good concert.
