(My three year old daughter, with her endearing penchant for "Its My Party", is now convinced I am mad.) And the answer is..(I think) "Will I fade in the middle of the night, Will I fade in the night ?" I'll go and check the lip-synch on the video now. Talking of which have you noticed that there is a one second flash on the vid where Bry has a navy suit rather than a white suit ? This is not a wind up, by the way, although I wish it was, it is dreadful/hilarious and even some of the words are wrong. At best I would say it sounds like bad Karaoke in a working man's club, but it only cost 3 quid so it was worth it for a laugh. Catalogue no. is DOP 126, and it is on the Dressed to kill label. Ferry/Roxy (and membership) addicted since the (UK) John Peel radio sessions of '71. Only managed attendance at 4 Roxy concerts, but such happy memories!! Thank you for the welcome Avalonians. You really do learn something new every day...I did not know of the involvement of either Michael Dawe or Phil Gould...I am sure though that it is the voice of PT on "Your Application's Failed"..(Bryan wouldn't be heard dead with such an up-front Geordie accent as that!) I suppose it lends credence to the fact that PT wrote it if he's the voice too. Daniel: As promised, the "London Evening Standard" Roxy reformation article (Oct. 2 1998)....written by Tim Cooper it quotes Phil Manzanera extensively, but it is the words of the journalist which say "Any reunion is likely to include Paul Thompson, but not Brian Eno. If these are the correct lines then you've casually solved one of our long-unanswered questions, extant since the beginning of Avalonian time, perhaps. Not even the thunderingly authoritative Smash Hits magazine included those lines in its 1987 print of the lyric. If the lines are wrong, we must try not to draw our own conclusions about your current state of mind. (The first time I played The Chosen One, I was taken aback when Bryan seemed to sing 'Sons & lovers/ come to supper'.) The Right Stuff... an Avalonian once suggested that a "lie on" pun was intended in the line "Lion woman with the crooked smile" - Bryan wasn't too embarrassed to include *that* on the lyric sheet. Given the kind of "bayou/buy you" fun to be had in Limbo, there's a fair chance that it's yet another example of well-buried (but dry as a bone) humour.
