If I had been Cecilia Atterbom, I would have kept my name even if I was married. In Sweden several people have two last names -- Kicki G having changed her last name if I'm not mistaken. Kenny Rogers was on TV here last night, during which time he was told about the verb 'to roger' (well known in Britain). Something about the prolonged audience laughter and the interviewer's expression told him almost all he needed to know. "Something tells me I'm either going to like this a lot," he suggested, "or..." More audience laughter, leaving no doubt in his mind. "To love truly?" he offered. "To love truly - with some force," he was told, to more laughter. He took it very well. If any of his food outlets open in the UK, I suspect he'll choose a new name for them rather than relying on an easily overlookd apostrophe (assuming there's one there in the first place) to save his reputation.
