I think the real reason for buying the hoax is that people on this list desperately _wanted_ it to be true! No harm in that, rather sweet, actually. /Kicki G - ------------------------ Kicki Gustafsson, Östersunds-Posten 063-16 16 51 http://www.op.se http://www.torget.se/users/k/KickiG (privat hemsida) - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Apr 1999 10:19:31 -0400 From: jspellman@banet.net Subject: [AVALON] Won't Get Fooled Again A great job, amazing. I caught none of the clues, only the anonymous nature and ultra fast turnaround time were a tip off. Thanks for coming clean before the revolutionary war started up again. I must say though to compare yourself with Vapor is a stretch. Unless you are Vapor? My guess it is Will. But, now FB, you have no credibility so what will be your next contribution? I did wonder about 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On' but then again I did wonder about 'Amazing Grace', 'He'll Have To Go' & 'You Are My Sunshine' I was probably like most people in that I was wishing it was true. I am not upset or angry for myself as I know what sometimes happens on this list, but I am a wee bit embarassed in that I have known several people from all around the world for years, most of them don't have e-mail and are therefore not on this list. I had a 30 minute phone call to America to a friend about this and I have sent her a print out of the sleeve along with copies to a dozen other collectors I know, who will be receiving a copy through the post this week. I can take a joke like the next guy, but I don't know what to say to these other friends now. I'll have to stand in the corner of the room all weekend wearing a dunces hat, but it was good to have that "Big Bryan's got a new album coming out" feeling again, even though it was only short lived. And by the way, hats off to Colleen, she didn't seem to buy it for a second. She may even be the perp. The FB-BF angle has a certain Je n'sais quoi that intrigues me though. His Royal Vaporness could never be that Machiavellian, and I could never be that cool. Martini - Don't do it mate! We still need that video! (unless thats a spoof too - BF in French drama series - Hmm, shurely shome mishtake.) Kicki - Of course you're my OTHER favourite poster my dear. I'll put the cover up on my site again this weekend for all to share the fun. http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Lounge/4927/index.html To everyone who has speculated on FB's identity - you're right, I am indeed a male/female/british/american called gene/colleen/jason/will/bryan who is trying to cut down to 20 bananas a day, I can see there's no fooling you. Finally my one regret. To red-faced Scot JObinv01@aol.com, who is guilty only of wishing too hard, a redfaced FB offers a sincere and humble apology (I guess you were caught hook, line and sinker.) All I can say is, when I suffer from "premature release" I blame it on overwork!
