I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED. I was typing the letter, finished it, and decided to think on it some more before actually committing to giving these little jewels up. I hit the save draft button, and thought, I'll get back to it a a day or two. I just spent a good two hours perusing about 10 days worth of avalon digests, when to my surprise, the letter turns up on one of them; the letter is incomplete! I remember writing more, but the draft is GONE. I know I didn't hit send by accident, because I have a second window to go through that asks me if I'm certain I want to send "this e-mail", which never popped up. Anyway, I'm still debating about the discs. I do want to say I've found those 10 days of lists fascinating, informative, and even educational! I honestly had forgotten how intricate and cerebral some of Bry's work is... It reminded me of how when in high school I wrote a review of a 3-D movie of Vincent Price that was in re-release called HOUSE OF WAX. I titled my review 3-D ENNUI. My then girlfriend's dad was mightly impressed that a 16 year old kid knew such a word (granted, I had to look it up after hearing it in IF IT TAKES ALL NIGHT), and I proudly told him where; it stirred some curiousity in him about RM. He didn't become a fan or anything, but it gained me some major points with him. The stories of meeting RM connected people were great, and the backgrounds about people, places, events, etc mentioned in RM songs fantastic. Having lived in England for 4 years (85-89), I recognized the NEW TOWN description of many high streets I visited; and even though I had heard 3&9 hundreds of times, I never GOT IT until it was explained here! Of course, I immediately recalled where I'd heard such a phrase before; A HARD DAY'S NIGHT. In the pub scene, a barmaid, referring to a sandwich, tells Ringo "That'll be 2 and 9...." Anyway, I'm really glad to be getting a list with people who know SO much and are willing to share it so freely. Thank you. Oh, one last thing. I don't know if it's ever been mentioned in the past, but I have this photo of BF with the most unlikely person you can imagine....SHAUN CASSIDY! For whatever reason, and this was pre-Hardy Boys fame, about 1976 Hit Parader did an article on Shaun. I don't recall what it was about, but I have the impression he was a bad boy. Anyway, the picture shows Bry and him in conversation; Bry eschewing some experience that probably was going right over poor pimply faced Shaun's head. It's a hoot! I'll be glad to do a scan and send it to anyone who's interested. Another last thing: Could the person compliing the video (I haven't got you all down by name yet) post a list of what they already have - I don't have much, but perhaps.... Thanks again, and sorry for the super long post. That's what happens when you play catch-up! What a Wonderful World just puts a grin on my face, on repeat: good on those rain y days(with A Song For Europe and most of Stranded); even better on warm sunny days, when it goes equally well with Slave to Love, which I play when I'm over the top in a good mood. For those sunny San Diego California (or once a year warm sunny Sunset district San Francisco) days when you wake up, open the window, smell the flowers from the garden on the breeze and think, "God's Country," some Avalon, of course. Mamouna on late lone nights, preferably on a good pair of speakers, before going out (or instead of). Taxi at the end of a night... True to Life is another one of those euphoric songs... _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
