As one who is madly in love with a person who has come to the brink of leaving me on a few occaisions, I can say with conviction that I would never wish that kind of pain on anyone, especially not Lucy Ferry. I think that what Dawne was saying was that she feels sorry for Jerry, plain and simple. I also feel sorry for Jerry, but I believe that what she did to Bryan was very wrong. I sincerely hope that Bryan doesn't inflict the same kind of deceit on Lucy, and I'm sorry if I romanticized that possibility in my last message. Stuck In Time. He must think this is still the 70's where he can play with anyone he chooses. Has anybody told him there there is a deadly disease out there that he could catch? Let alone bring home? I agree, that Mr. Ferry would have been more discreet if he did engage in any extracuricular activities. But I don't think either of them are thinking of the either other than he of her "oh, that's too bad." I mean, it has been over 20 years. It will be interesting to see how this comes out. Jerry is too good for Mick, that is obvious but she should have known who he was when she got involved with him. A snake is a snake no matter how his skin fits (yuch)! I sincerely hope that Bryan doesn't inflict the same OK, y'all are going to have to help me out here. A million years ago Bryan Ferry dated Jerry Hall. According to her bio, this was not a match made in heaven. He didn't like the cockroaches crawling around her parents' home and she didn't like how he kept trying to make her over. He went on tour in Asia and told her that he wouldn't be calling her because he couldn't afford it. She met someone new and decided to stick with him. Mr. Ferry met someone who seemed exactly the ticket into high society he had been searching for and stuck with her. Where exactly did she do him this great and unforgiveable wrong? I mean, we all understand the pain of a breakup. But when I first read about the Anti-Telephonic Vow when I first read _Tall Tales_ it struck me that he was giving HER the Big Brush-Off. The classic "don't call me and I won't call you," no? Answers on the back of postcard please. And here's a hint: the songs on "Siren" were written long before Mr. Ferry met Miss Jerry. Well, Let me say that This Topic has gotten off to a rolicking start, no? Hell yes. No one, and not me (thanks for the reinforcemnt, Heather) would ever want to see Bryan dump Lucy for a decades-old love-thing, because children are involved.... Which of us really knows exactly how deep those feelings between Bryan and Jerry were? Perhaps they WERE a mismatch....and that is another topic for another missive (not for the back of a postcard)... but we were thinking out loud here, and having a bit of fun just speculating. Snake or not, Mick and Jerry had a marriage (paper or not), and to do that to your wife...and to your children (remember they can read the tabloids, too) is so damn heinous. And yes, we Ferry-Philes KNOW the Chronology....Siren came first, then came Jerry... As to marrying Lucy and gaining access to High Society....oooh, now that sounds like a business deal more than a marriage....What would Jerry give him??? All that Texas charm I guess... Seriously, I do hope and think that Bryan loves Lucy. But if they ever do break up, well, I am on a plane to London Real Soon... Colleen (who prefers Reebok herself)<< I don't think you get my point. I know it's part of todays culture but it still sucks. Most people associate music with different times of their life, especially older music and songs we grew up on. When all of a sudden you no longer think of a fond moment but a beer or some crap it changes your reaction to the song. This is what commercials are for. Use some crapy Bob Seger song to sell your car, not a good song. Some people like it like yourself, I don't, but I wouldn't tell you to change. It's just how I feel. Nothing wrong with it,nothing wrong with your view either.
