I had recently bid on the new town video on eBay and was the highest bidder when I received the following information: "New Town OOP vhs on which you have bid, has been ended early by eBay. The auction has been ended for any of several reason. eBay is not permitted to discuss the reasons for any suspension. The results of this auction are null and void. The seller is under no obligation to complete this sale. If you do decide to complete this sale, you are doing so at your own risk. eBay has taken this action in the interests of protecting all parties involved." This is pretty scary. I mean, what is going on out there? I feel fairly secure that eBay does have our RM interests at heart, following this and the "autographed" LP earlier last month. Stuff creeps out on eBay all of the time that are simply fakes or not what the seller is advertising. I received a few emails recently when I bid on the fully signed LP - eBay are aware of the problem but seem unwilling to really stop these people from re-submitting their fake goods. Be VERY wary of buying 'signed' goods from eBay - especially ones which come with 'authenticity guarantees' and are sold off cheap - i.e. starting at $5.
