Some put it down to the bad weather conditions. But could it have something to do with low morale. Well, what kind of a performance do you expect from Mick Jagger, when even his own wife admits that she prefers to relax to the crooning of her former boyfriend, Roxy Music front-man Bryan Ferry? In an interview to be broadcast later this month, Models 1 model Jerry Hall is said to list only three tracks by her husband, Mick, among her top ten singles of all time, while she counts four of Ferry's records (including Jealous Guy and The Price of Love). She can't really be wishing she had stayed with him long enough to become Jerry Ferry, can she? /Kicki G - ------------------------ Kicki Gustafsson, Östersunds-Posten 063-16 16 51 http://www.op.se http://www.torget.se/users/k/KickiG (privat hemsida) - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Dec 1998 16:17:54 +0100 From: Daniel Atterbom Subject: [AVALON] Intro to roxy I got into Roxy in the 70's. "Love is the Drug" was the first single I remember and the *famous* TV concert on Swedish TV was a thrill. It was 16--17 and punk rock was around the corner. Bryan Ferry's solo tour in 1977 was the first concert I went to, when it came to Stockholm. We stood up and shouted "Spedding, Spedding!" until Ferry started the next song. I saw the 1979 to 1982 concerts in Stockholm, where I still live. I liked the Tv show from Germany in early 1979. In the mid-80's, I gave up on Ferry, but I like "Mamona" very much. The 1979 live Cd that came out this year wasn't to bad, but not great either. "Like a Hurricane" is a great song. Neil Young sings like he was in some dump, but with Roxy it's like from a luxery hotel bar. :-) Happy holidays Daniel Daniel Atterbom *************** "Vietnam was the war where generals lost their reputation and journalists made theirs." You do much better than I with the lyrics. My lyrics are simply silly, while yours have a "campy" silliness that is much more in keeping with the Roxy Music spirit. Well, maybe I'll try again. I had just naturally assumed that she HAD changed her name to "Jerry Ferry" during their brieft marriage. Isn't that true?
