Act one was when we met, I loved you at first glance. You read your lines so cleverly and never missed a cue, And then came act two, you seemed to change, you acted strange And why, I've never known... Honey, you lied when you said you loved me And I had no cause to doubt you, But I'd rather go on hearing your lies Than to go on living without you. Now the stage is bare, and I'm standing there with emptiness all around, And if you won't come back to me Then they can bring the curtain down. - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Dec 1998 09:33:08 -0500 (EST) From: Colleen Matan Subject: Re: [AVALON] "Hear, Say" On Thu, 17 Dec 1998 ASchulberg@aol.com wrote: > Fellow AVALONians: > > My creative skills aren't that strong (I'm a lawyer not an artist) but I > started compiling lyrics for the unknown song "Hear, Say". If you've been following the list during the past month you will be familiar with how Gareth McGinley has an amazing collection of clips on tape, and how fellow Avalonians have chipped in with esoteric additions to form an outstanding and eclectic selection of performances. In amongst the material we have the maestro's thespian debut in a French soap, we have a rendition of Hey Jude, we have a boyish Bryan dressed as a schoolboy crooning "What a wonderful world" to Twig (the wonder kid,) and lots lots more. God-fearing Avalonions have raised legal concerns about this project but we are undaunted. Even if an extraordinary set of circumstances led to legal procedings we feel comfortable that circulation to a club would not contravene copyright regulations. As previously discussed I have enlisted a buddy who owns an video editing company to give free assistance to the project. He assures me that all video formats can be accepted and copied on to a master tape. That master is in turn copied back on to the format that YOU require. There could be a dimunition in quality accordingly, but what the hell... My direct email address is martinstockman@btinternet.com If you have a tape to lend for the compilation please email me and I'll give you my home (UK) address. When sending a tape in please include the following. a) rewind to the start b) write on a label on the tape (i) how far in is the relevant segment (ii) how long it lasts (iii) specifically what we wish to use c) a blank tape d) a return stamped envelope for your original tape and the compilation tape e) $10 or something like that to cover some costs. (I'll let everyone see the bills/cheques) When we've got all the material in and have done the editing I'll inform the list. Then anyone who wants a copy can reach me. later...Martin S - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Dec 1998 09:03:28 +0800 From: "Paul A. Saw his first solo venture (all tux, with if I recall, including Andy Phil Paul, Chris Spedding and a string section) in 1974(?) where he only did a three date tour (Newcastle City Hall, Royal Albert Hall and somwhere else I think). Still have the poster somewhere - black pencil head of BF on pale yellow background. Just before christmas, electric atmosphere and the whole place singing along. Glam-rock still at its peak and everyone dressed to the nines. Also saw Roxy there 6 or 7 times - again magic evenings.
