I recommend "It's Raining Today" a collection of his 1967-70 stuff. My fiance says Walker reminds him of something you'd hear on "Melody Grand Prix." Of course if you insist on being a teddy boy, like Jimmy, you could always listen to Hazel Adkins, then you could watch Mystery Train by Jim Jarmusch, then you could go out to your garage and put a new engine into your car and paint some fire on the front. Compilling a 4 CD boxed set of Bryan's solo work (similar to "The Thrill of it all), where a provisional track list will be put together. Including all the singles, the best of the album tracks, e.g. B-sides of early singles and the possibility of som unreleased material. Next summer in the U.S. there will be a "Best Of" as well as the first American release of the "Video Collection" and "The thrill of it all" boxed set. Well, if it was Ferry's, it could have been one of the following. Sometime in the 60s: an old Studebaker of some kind (of course). Roxy's early days: Renault 4. A bit later: small BMW (2002 or 1602, probably). Mid 70s: no idea, but he & Jerry took to posing next to a Jag XJS. Time passes... Bete Noire era: a "creaky BMW". Early 90s: Alfa Romeo 164, I think, dryly described as (something like) "a no-nonense Italian executive saloon," which seemed at the time like 1) a bizarre thing for Bryan Ferry to say about any car, though that was undoubtedly the intended effect, and 2) a bizarre thing for anyone to say about the 164. My irony detector failed to sound; does it need recalibrating? A question. Anyone know if it's true that Brian Eno doesn't drive? I think I read this somewhere. And another. What exactly is the score with Dave Stewart these days? Was surprised enough to find him co-producing the last in the line of lost Ferry albums but heard recently that he's working with Eno, too.
