Well, considering he had a new album out which he was supposedly promoting, it really was inexplicable that he dragged out that old chestnut. Perverse, too. And I was also disappointed. Colleen Well you know I was quite surprised that he was on Letterman's show to begin with. I'm sure that Dave's core audience had no idea who Bryan was or his influence. Maybe it was Paul Schaffer (Band leader for the show), hip cat that he is, probably persuased someone to get him on. I think the idea was to get as much exposure out of that apperance that he could so he dug into his arsenal and came up with the one song that America ( not THIS American anyway) "knew" him by. I'm also sure that Dave had no idea who Bryan even though he tries to be "hip". So yes it was dissappointing in one sense, but at least he WAS on the show. Wheter or not that appearance translated into new listners, know one knows. I was majorily pissed that I missed the performance. I'm sure I was watching Jay Leno which by the way Bryan made an apperance on ( no not the same night). I THINK I might have copy of that one. If I remember, he did I put a Spell on You on that one. At least Jay APPEARED to be a fan. Jas PS Does anyone know when The Midnight Special (VH1) will air the Roxy Music segment? I'll confirm this later and next week I'll send the full list of all performances which I've been taking note of and of the people who have said that they will give their performances to this project. I will do the recording in the new year but since I'm only at this University until April of 1999 then everyone sending me copies will have to get their shop in order quite quickly. Also received a private e-mail from somebody not on this list who had a list of performances not mentioned by anyone else (unfortunately the only thing he has on tape is an "In Your Mind" studio special).
