The 1970's glamour group Roxy Music, led by Bryan Ferry, could be on the verge of reforming. A possible comeback has been talked about before, but has always been stalled by the musicians' solo careers. But, for the first time since 1983, the three members who were in the band throughout its 10-year life are all out of contract and available to tour and record together. According to the Evening Standard, Ferry has been talking to Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay about a reunion. Manzanera, who recently met the singer for the first time in five years to discuss a possible comeback said, 'Bryan's initial reaction was very positive. The ball was left in his court.' Band members have reportedly been offered as much as £1 million each for a comeback tour. But Manzanera, 47, said, 'It won't work if we do it for the money. It has to be fun first, otherwise it will disintegrate.' any reunion is likely to include original drummer Paul Thompson rather than Brian Eno *** - -------------------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Nov 1998 11:14:58 -0500 From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Dav=ECd?= Subject: [AVALON] Stranded Tour Hi Richard-- I think we spoke once before, long ago.
