Basically Manzanera said he was keen, liked Bryan's last few things a lot, talked to Bry, who seems positive etc. - i.e. more of the same rumours but perhaps a little more concrete. I'll try and post the whole article when I get it faxed to me by a friend. The bad news is...Bryan has been DROPPED by Virgin who do not wish to release his new album!!!! I think this bit is true, because Bryan is no longer signed to Virgin. Anybody got any more accurate news? Tavio? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Oct 1998 16:17:42 -0700 From: "Brian L. This is the URL for the above story. http://www.thisislondon.com/dynamic/generic/review.html?in_review_id=80752&in_review_text_id=63553 I think anyone of us would agree that we would rather see Roxy over Ferry for our next concert. I remember only after 6 or 7 months after it was released, I saw tons of cut-out copies from Europe sold at Tower Clerance center in US (NYC) for 5 or 6 dollars. It must been real bad if they have to ship it to US to get rid of it. So I did my duty and picked up 3 copies and gave 2 away as gifts. Picked up 2 more copies back in Baltmore, MD record store. They were in the discounts bin for 3 or 4 dollars. Picked them up and gave them away as gifts. I also the bought Japanese version w/ live tracks which were the same ones from Mamouna single in US. All I know is I did my duty as BF fan. I hope BF doesn't get picked up by CMC International label. This is the label that picks up all the washed up 80s AOR rockers adn popsters. Some of the enlisted include Meatloaf, Christopher Cross, Pat Benatar, I think some memeber fos Styx, probably REO Speedwagon as well. Being on a label like that would be death if I was an artist. I guess it will be a long time that is if he gets to release it. Knowing how finicky BF is he will probably search forever just to find the right label. Damn. > > Anybody got any more accurate news? I am now completely hopeless of getting anything from BF or RM this year and possibly the next year. This sucks big time. Options left for BF are: - -find a new label (not sure this will be easily accomplished unless there is a label out there that would like lose money) - -join RM: probably a long drawn out process with BF wrestling a tag team of PM and AM w/ PM as manager. Who knows this will even come to completion. There is no way out. This sucks big time. All this time, I was thinking he was putting finishing touches on the new CD. Who would thought Virgin would put a damper like this. I mean Virgin still carry Steve Winwood, he not only do not sell CDs anymore he is simply sucks now. Thi si really bad. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Oct 1998 10:24:46 -0700 From: Rod Le Cloux Subject: Re: [AVALON] Bad and Good News Rex Estorffe wrote: > > Brian L.
