In response to this, I offer a bit of advice to any Avalon members interested in an answer- maybe it would be best to ask this Older Man yourself because, as it just so happens, he is a member of this list... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Oct 1998 14:35:26 -0500 From: Will Frechette Subject: Re: [AVALON] Contest Entry Update Azile2001@aol.com wrote: > It seems that my recent entry in Jimmy Vapor's Final Contest was met with the > question as to whether or not my affections for the Older Married Man were > returned. It was in the magazine, Sunday August 4th. Perhaps there's a delay before it hits the website? (It was the London Sunday Times but you know that.) I'll let you know when I've scanned the thing in next week. Not sure how well the OCR will work but I'm optimistc. It's worth seeing just for the picture of the clobber and hairstyle Price wore in 1971. Leaves you in no doubt at all about his mastermind role on those Roxy covers. Replay... a Ferry TV interview with Richard Skinner in '86, and Bryan is being asked about Antony Price. "Which of you has influenced the other more, do you think?" Ferry really has to think, and looks a little troubled. Finally, "Well, obviously, I influenced him more. It's *my* interview." ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Aug 1998 21:34:58 -0700 From: Rex Estorffe Subject: Re: [AVALON] Antony Price Bahi Para wrote: > > Theresa wrote: > > >i looked all over the sunday times website and couldn't find this article... > > It was in the magazine, Sunday August 4th. Our hero could learn from them on how to make an album and tour every three years instead of living for cocktail parties. What they do better than anyone is work the two guitars together, not lead and rhythm but one big swirl. And Page had if only one thing over Hendrix, he knew how to pick a rhythm section. But your right, just imagine the sound of the alleged "guitar-gods" of the time jaws hitting the floor when they saw the guy. No one else had a chance.
