That one from 1977 whit the song Solsburry hill. He also played whit a group named Mountain when they had a reunion in 1994. I know I have seen his name on other records too - but I can't remember wich one right now ( I just woke up) ;-) ....it just came up to my mind.....Look here! http://www.allmusic.com/cg/x.exe?p=amg&sql=B122528 end ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Jul 1998 15:06:14 PDT From: "Bogus Man" Subject: [AVALON] Allan Schwartzberg I know that Allan play the drums on at least one Peter Gabriel-record. He also played drums on a late 70s LP "Bionic Boogie", which included "phantom" drummer KISS member Eric Carr on a few tracks. I think he played on some Alice Cooper LPs, as well as the Richard Wagner solo LP and a few other Bob (Kiss producer) Ezrin-produced projects. ....Interesting Kiss trivia for all you Kiss fans. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Jul 1998 01:44:30 +0100 From: Bahi Para Subject: Re: [AVALON] Which came 1st: the Bowie or the Ferry? Arnie asked: >So, do I start my Walker listening with "Tilt" or do I search for a greatest >hits album or some other piece? Here's an excerpt from a Tilt lyric: - -begin Doctorie give me a C for the babaloo opiate me with that key doctor babaloo Please don't you laugh doc Manos arriba bien With springs ticking less than two feet from your chin Lemon Bloody Cola Lemon Bloody Cola Lemon Bloody Cola gonna sponge you down gonna sponge you down - -end This is a serious song, from a serious artist. I can't stop laughing as I type this but it's true. If you're curious (and, as a Crimson fan, you must be) then get Tilt. If you're weirded out, get a Greatest Hits collection first. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Jul 1998 17:01:12 PDT From: "Heather Drain" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Which came 1st: the Bowie or the Ferry? Greetings, i just had to add my one and a half cents to the discussion: if anyone doubts at least the tiniest bit of influence of ferry on bowie see the "loving the alien" video, though musically not similar, some of bowie's mannerism's and facial expressions are very very ferryesque(almost spooky :-) but anyways i think they are both great and quite influential(preaching to the choir now eh?) but for the matter of bf not being a huge hit maker now, i feel in an odd way its probably good thing, since a lot of music that hits huge rarely lasts and is barely remembered down through the years, there are exceptions of cours, but as a whole i feel this is true...all just imho of course :-) yours truly, heather d. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Jul 1998 00:02:46 -0500 From: jas2347@xsite.net Subject: [AVALON] Station to Station Jim Spelleman wrote: ...as Yes we have only one station here, WFNX. Everyone else is play it safe radio. This is where I heard GOF. Also the only place you will hear deeper cuts of Ferry/Roxy. They're not in constant rotation but they don't pretend it never happened either. About a month ago in between Scott Weiland and Blur they played "Editions of You". I was stunned. They do take chances, on Saturday nights they play punk and funk, literally. They'll play The Jam, then Gene Knight, then the Sex Pistols, then Parliament. All in a row, then 1/2 hour of reg programming and then do another pair or two. Everyone thought they were crazy, except the people that listen. They do play a lot of crap though....... But I'll listen to crap I've never heard before over the same old crap any day. Jim What city is this? If I happen to pass thru I want to make use that I tune in. I like that last listing of perfomers, sounds like a list I would play if I had a chance. Glad to hear that Parlimanet-Funkadleic was mentioned in the same breath (I am a BIG, BIG fan-I have personally met them and they are laid back-and stoned!). Thanks to the others for mentioning Scott Walker. I only knew of him from that hit from the sixties. It's good to hear that Bowie and Bryan took some tips from him. I will try to find "Tilt" here in Chicago. This is just another reason why this list is so neat-the people who post here have very ecclectic tastes.
