Jas, sorry for being a pain in the ass, under the advice of my therapist if something bothers me it helps me to express how I feel. I hope one day The Sox and the Cubs get to play against each other. Somehow they may both find a way to lose. I'm flattered you thought I was European......Last winter when I was waiting for a cab in front of an office building I noticed a very attractive women. I couldn't take my eyes of her. Then this guy walks by and said "Now that is something to look at!" I smiled and agreed with him, then I noticed it was Derek Sanderson, a Bruins star of the early 70's who I grew up watching, he now calls the games on TV here. I said "Derek, hey man, wow, hey!......" He ran away. I got too excited, kind of like when a dog senses you are nervous he barks......... I don't know of any Purple/ Roxy paths crossing. But the 3rd bass player Glenn Hughes actually sang for Black Sabbath in the 80's. I also recently discovered that Yes keyboard player Rick Wakeman played piano on David Bowie's "Changes". Have a nice day. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 10:28:49 -0500 From: HipChip Subject: Re: [AVALON] Chance Meetings, et. al....... That's about one thousandth of the recommended system requirement for Windows 98. Brian Eno plays synthesizer on Roxy Music's single "Virginia Plain." Still, it's always nice to see Roxy alumni get mainstream attention as Roxy alumni... :) - --Don - -- Don Becker becker@panther.adelphi.edu http://www.adelphi.edu/don Unix System Administrator, Adelphi University "I am not anything to you. Some of my recent favorites and recommendations; The Irresponsibles - Backwards Boy Produced by Adrian Belew. If you like Crimson/Belew and/or XTC I think you would really enjoy this album. Only 6 songs but they are all good. Huffamouse - We've been had again A new band that got little airplay. I luckily caught their name. Worth buying just for the song "Wait". Amanda Marshall - Amanda Marshall From 1995. Her only album to date. What a voice, so powerful yet so sweet. Her songs are so accessible but still have a kick to them. I still can't believe what little airplay she got in the US. I hear she is constantly on TV and radio in Canada where she is from. I've only seen her videos twice here. What else is new. And what was the deal with Roxy and bass players? Aside from Graham Simpson I don't think they ever had a bass player in the band. Always a "guest". They went through so many. They always sounded different, they were all good. John Gustafson and Gary Tibbs were my favorites.
