To put it bluntly I like RM\BF much more than the great majority of mothers on the list, but suspect the others as being "More influencial" (For example, Kurt Corbain blowing his brains out got more press than BF's whole life probably will.) I do not know ehether that poll was limited to rock performers or not. If so, it was not enforced. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 May 1998 21:47:00 +0200 From: Bahi Para Subject: Re: [AVALON] Re: 1994 tour - Berkeley show Jason wrote: >Excellent show. Try: http://www.primenet.com/~mldbass/ I think they included at least one photo of a Mamouna line-up (which changed during the 2-leg tour). I last checked quite some time ago - the pages may have moved. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 May 1998 15:48:42 -0500 From: Will Frechette Subject: Re: [AVALON] Top 100 Bands Maillist00 wrote: > Kurt Corbain blowing his brains out got more press than BF's whole life > probably will.) Hi Everyone, I`ve restored a copy of Roxy Music`s '76 Stockholm show using a music restoration software (Dart Pro32). Despite there being some slight flaws in the original recording, I believe this copy is as close as we`re ever going to get to a near master tape quality copy. I know too many people on the list who`ve wasted their money on those over priced, horrible quality "Funky Chick" and "For Europeans" boot cd`s, among others. Here`s your chance to get a near flawless copy of this great Roxy show. If this works out, I`ll restore other Roxy shows. The only cost is either a blank cassette or blank CD-R media that you mail along with shipping cost (postage and cost of the shipping package). Your recording will be made and shipped to you. We`ll figure who`ll make what for who later. This thing is just getting off the ground now, so it could be a couple of weeks before the master copies are sent out. I`ll post to the Avalon list when everything is set to go. One thing I`d like to point out is that depending on the number of people wanting copies, it could take time before your copy is sent out, so please be patient as these people have lives too. If you`re interested in getting a copy, please post it to the Avalon list so we can get an idea of what we`re up against. Below is a list of people who have volunteered so far to make copies. Don Becker becker@panther.adelphi.edu (cd-r and tape dubs) David Mock davdmock@america.net (cd-r and tape dubs) Jeff Pargeon OHIODECLAN@aol.com (tape dubs) Myself decophile@pipeline.com (cd-r and tape dubs) Arnie Schulberg ASchulberg@aol.com (tape dubs)---(starting mid July) If anyone has any rare or hard to find Roxy boots, please let me know. Cheers. Gene ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 May 1998 13:31:11 +1200 (NZST) From: David Fairley Subject: Re: [AVALON] Have THIS on.....
