My name's Mark and I've just subscribed to the list. Bit quiet, isn't it? I'm interested in getting hold of any Roxy/Ferry live/Peel session/etc tapes. I've not got very much to swap, although I do have a load of Pulp stuff for anyone who's interested. Anyone who wants to swap stuff, drop me a line. Also, does anyone know anything about Ferry's pre-Roxy bands, The Banshees and The Gas Board? Are any recordings known to exist? Speaking about labels, does anyone know about the history of EG Editions? I am curious to find out a little more about how the label came to be the symbol of Roxy Music/Brian Eno releases, who founded the label and what was their missions? In anycase, I will be in London this coming weekend and will be (amongst other things) looking for Peel session stuff. I'll let you know what I find when I return (to Minneapolis). But then if you're already in the UK, maybe you could suggest some spots in London that I should check out?! Yes it would be interesting if anyone had any pre-Roxy videos available...I believe the video for Remake Remodel was from an amateurish recording when BF was at university in any case??? Now that live concert I do wonder how many people that live far away from America (such as I in Israel) might be tempted to make the pilgrimage...hmm...does anyone have a phone no where the tickets might be bought??? And do you know what sort of performance he is intending to do - i.e. just a few songs like he did at the Night of the Proms in Europe a couple of years ago or some more comprehensive line up??? Have a great week all Michael - ---------- | From: Mark Sturdy | To: avalon@smoe.org | Cc: avalon-digest@smoe.org | Subject: [AVALON] Greetings | Date: 22 פברואר 1998 16.43 | | Hello.
