I'm fairly new to the wonderful, strange, exotic, erotic world of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. My curiosity started after I read an article in ROLLING STONE about the famous album cover for "Country Life". I purchased the CD and have been totally, blissfully hooked since. I've also been starved for info on Ferry and the group and I have been able to absorb tons through the mailing list...so now I'm turning to you guys to answer a question that I have (which has, by now probably become common everyday knowledge to you). Okay - I know that Roxy music has went through more than its share of bass players. I have a CD of their debut album and was also lucky enough to find it on vinyl. I noticed that in the liner notes of the CD (with all of those great cheesy glam shots of the band), Graham Simspon's pic is featured while, on the album, Rik Kenton's pic is featured. Also, Simpson is given sole credit on the CD liner notes but on vinyl liner notes both Kenton and Graham are given credit, even though Kenton's pic is the only one featured. I'm confused.
