Peter Gabriel opted for a previously unrecorded track by an obscure American songwriter, Joseph Arthur, and Bryan Ferry, ever the classicist, put Shakespeare's Sonnet No. 18 to music. "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" he inquires in that unmistakable urbane croon, and one can almost hear the rustle of silk smoking jacket. I just love this rendition and no one I mean no one either has the audacity or can pull it off like Mr. Ferry and get away with it. It's just a classy tribute to the Princess and not just a rehash of song. He has never sounded better. I love the music and especially the way that it focuses on his voice which is the central point of the production and not the music. Bravo Bravo Bryan now put out some more stuff for us.
