Had I done so, I would have known you were looking for the circuitous route, which I caught about 30 sec. after I posted my lamebrain, obvious response. Hey, i'm out of practice. How about this instead; Nick Seymour--Mark Seymour(his brother and singer w/Hunters and Collectors)--Mike Howlett(produced H&C 1982 "Payload" EP and played bass with Gong)--Steve Hillage(guitar w/Gong)--Kevin Ayers--Eno (You could stick Robert Wyatt in between Ayers and Eno if you want another step) OR you can go from Mike Howlett--Andy Summers--Eric Burdon--Chas Chandler--Jimi Hendix--Robert Wyatt--(Manzanera or Eno) OR Use Conny Plank (who produced H&C "Jaws of Life") and end up with an Eno connection easily. This just goes back to my theory that you can connect almost anyone with RM if you use Eno. Actually if you factor Gong into the equation, I think you just about pick up anyone the Brian Eno link doesn't take care of. Next time I'll read a little closer. Really. And Dave, I know you weren't thinking > Phil ==> Tim Finn, so what's another short route? > > Colleen Sorry, again...I was actually thinking of the Split Enz connection...it was of course Phil Manzanera who suggested that Enz try their fortunes in England when they supported Roxy on their Aussie tour in '75(or '76?) and the rest, as they say, is history. Now whether it is necessary to go via the Tim Finn --> Neil Finn --> Crowded House route or directly to CH via Tim is a moot point as Tim was for a time a member of CH. Neil wasn't a member of Split Enz at the time they supported Roxy in Aus'. dave. Roxy Music had Split Enz as their opening act on a tour and Tim Finn was in both Split Enz and CH, so there's that link. Or, you can link them thru a Phil Manzanera project that Tim Finn & possibly Neil both participated on. Or just for a laugh there's the Crowded House song called Zen Roxy, which I think was inspired by Roxy. There seems to be quite a few fans of both bands on this list and the Crowded House list.
