[ccd@dataweb.nl] Re: [AVALON] Ferry fix/The Best of Both Worlds? [Colleen Matan Subject: [AVALON] new stuff Hi guys I just got a new CD(new to me) and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen it. I checked Pasi's list and didn't see it, but I imagine he probably has it anyway. It's a fairly cool interview picture disc CD. The disc itself is opaque red with the faces of the Mamouna girls looking at each other from opposite sides of the disc. It says promo only and the number is Virgin DPRO 12699. The Man is asked nine questions which are listed on the back cover, which is also red, and during the segments Mamouna, Don't Want to Know, Your Painted Smile, Virginia Plain, Avalon and Jealous Guy are played. BTW I don't have the cover and if anyone has a scan of it I'd appreciate them e-mailing me privately with it or about it, remember don't send the graphic to the list. He briefly touches on his thoughts on a Roxy reunion, the circumstances surrounding the switch from Horoscope to Mamouna, and a few other interesting things. Many thanks again to Jason for getting the list up again. I've been saying for awhile now that Roxy Music + Barry Manilow = Radiohead. Anad after seeing Radiohead last month, I see no reason to change my equation. Also, speaking of fixes, I know I offered to type up that Arena article but I also seem to remember a message which seemed as if someone had it already typed up. If I'm remembering incorrectly, my offer will still stand and I'll try to make some progress on it. Hi Will, About a year ago, I took this one over from Hoon Shin. Don't have it with me (at office), but have to check the number. As far as I can recall, there's no cover/inlay with it, but have to check also. I'm not sure if you are talking about the same article, but haven't anyone noticed the interview and review of ``Mamouna,'' from ``Arena'' magazine, Sept/Oct 1994 on Bryan Chow's page? In an earlier message to the 'old' list, just before it died, I offered to scan the pics that went with it, if someone is interested. Hi Frank (and everyone else), You scared me there for a minute--I thought: how could I have missed it?! And then I realized I was confused. I was thinking of the one from Arena Nov/Dec 1987, about Bete Noire. (It's extremely amusing and my [corrected] offer still stands if anyone is interested--it'll just take me some time to get it ready.) I'd love to see the photos from the 1994 article. Also, since I'm here, has anyone picked up the Roxy tribute from B5 Records? If so, how is it? (Is it available yet?)
