Peate" Subject: discussing fiona :) dear appleheads :), i just joined this past weekend, so i hope my comments do not appear impertinent. :) i think the difficulty in discussing fiona is not that she isn't weighty--quite the opposite. it's not that she isn't unique or beautiful inside as well as out--quite the opposites again. i think it's that she's so self-aware (and that's why we love her, or that's at least one of the reasons :) that she speaks quite well for herself, and therefore we feel obliged to say very little. we feel that she speaks quite eloquently, and so therefore we may end up feeling that to comment would be quite superfluous. i myself fall victim to this sentiment quite often. i look at fiona and i say, "yep, well, there's nothing more that needs to be said, because she's said it so eloquently already." well, i suggest we try to fight this. i suggest we try to pay fiona the ultimate compliment, which is not to let her waste away in an ivory tower, but to reward her efforts with the acknowledgement it deserves. i am sure it can be quite lonely at the top, and we all know how she reported feeling abused by those she'd hoped to impress after she became famous. "it's like, 'let's be mean to the famous girl,'" she reported in that *rolling stone* special earlier this year. i for one love fiona, and i think she deserves as much reinforcement as everyone else. and if this message gets anyone up off his or her lazy duff, then i'm all for it! :) anticipating all *sorts* of messages about fiona :), robert a. peate, jamesport, new york ***** i believe the written word has always been my true voice. ~tara stevens ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Dec 1998 15:41:33 -0700 From: Jonathon Stooner Subject: Re: [nfc] Re: ADMIN: Hey everyone > > Tuan!!!! **echos** Tuan! > I got it Sull..I'll just tape the two songs for....don't bother... Actually, I found the PleasantVille soundstrack a...pleasant...escape from the usual soundtracks...an' the two songs in question make it all the more divine...but I think I could have done without the Elvis tune...**shrug** > so are we the only two who like to reminice??(sp?) lol Naww...I jus' n'r had the time until now...**smile** **waves to all the beautiful people in the shadows** well, it has been a while since I've posted to this list, minus the usual Fumbler Cross-over... It feels kinda funny.. Just A Comedic Thought, Jonathon Stooner - -- *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "They say fame has a price.
