It probably wouldn't really pull ratings though, since the thing is usually live and if it isn't they can't really say, "Well coming up next is the MTV Awards featuring another Fiona speech." cause that would kind of give away that she won. :) Kristen _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I was going to mention the mtv nomination, but I guess you guys beat me to it.....i don't know who is she up against again? madonna? missy elliot? shania twain? I don't know...comparing videos...we all know who's was superior...no doubt about that...i don't know, if Madonna doesn't win . because she is madonna, then I think fi has a good chance of winning...but who knows anymore...mtv has gotten worse by the minute...I can't remember the last time I saw a good video....aside from 120.....has anybody seen the playlist in rotation? it's terrrible...the only ones on the playlist that caught my eye from a quick glance were Sarah's adia and esthero's new video....oh and the Garbage videos...... .....anyway..if Fiona wins, we know that each and every one of us is going to wonder what the hell she's gonna say.....though of course it won't surprise us.......hell, I know it didn't surprise me last time, nor many of you......oh another piece of info...Tidal has gone double platinum....two million and counting........and I saw some Shadowboxer singles today at Virgin....though they are cardboard sleeved...same piture as the original Shadowboxer single in the thin cd case...but it only has three tracks...it doesn't have the live version of Carrion....but it's Austrailian....andbody seen this before? just curious....though for 7.99 it's not that great of a deal....two Shadowboxers..one the edit version and Pale Septmeber...the Criminal import is much more worth it....three live tracks......still looking for the Sleep to Dream import...that seems to be the hardest to find...aside from the original Shadowboxer import....anyway, guess that it for now..LaTeR aPpLeHeAdS, Raffi ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Aug 1998 12:05:30 -0400 (EDT) From: Melis Subject: My stupidity can someone send the address for the 'vote for fiona' thing in teen people? I absolutely hate that Brandy and Monica song, I hope to God it doesn't win. Anyway, you're right Raffi, MTV has gotten worse by the minute. The only videos they play are the ones that make Total Request, and we all know how great those songs are. But if some more people vote maybe we can get her up a notch or two. That'd still be nice. It's general knowledge that the music industry sucks, that it's BS, etc. etc. Kind of like the complaints that people have about our court system. But y'know what?!? Nobody's come up with a better system yet. I agree with Amber - her comments won't really hurt her chances of winning, though I do think that a lot of people realized that she wasn't as mature as everyone had previously thought, and that might affect her chances.
