Everyone seemed to go just silent. Well I mean I guess there wasn't much to talk about anyway, but it just sorta stopped, and no one seemed to notice, hell I can't even remember the last time anyone posted, and well I guess that doesn't matter anyway......so I wonder how many of you old cats are stil on this list, or are checking your mail now.....it would be nice if the list started up again......last year this time, everyday mail from the old list would flood in, and you know honestly I really do miss it. So is anyone else with me? I know it's a pretty faint attempt, but sombody has to say something, and I had to.........so how's everyone doing? having a good summer? ....had to include some small talk........to get some Fi in here, I got some inside info that she is now in the studio....I know we all thought she was a while ago.....let's see when the new stuff comes out......and I'm curious....what do you guys think of the name of the new album...Okerupt.....I don't know, as for myself, I'm not too jazzed about it.......she could've come up with something better than that........ .....anyway, I guess that's it for now...hope someone responds to this....keep in mind I'm not on any of the other lists.......LaTeR aPpLeHeAdS, Raffi "cuz I'm slow like honey, and heavy with mood." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Jul 1998 02:49:51 -0700 From: Jonathon Stooner Subject: Stooner Recs Emm Gryner... She has eyes as bright as Sarah's, and a musical ability like none other. With her debut album, Public, this is another CD that your one and only Stooner recommends to you all. After being subtlety by the listMaster of Under The Waves, A Fiona Apple Mailing List, I decided to try it out. Upon opening the CD, I noticed her eyes as bright as Sarah McLachlan's, so I knew that something on this CD had to be as divine as the one and only herself. Was I ever in for a surprise. And upon the start of the CD, I instantly fell in love with it. Now The infamous Stooner Disection: 1 part Abra Moore 2 parts Sarah 1 part Tori Amos A pinch, not too much, of Tanya Donelly and Shirley Manson. And a whole lot of originality that really makes Public a fine addition to my collection, and it can very easily be yours. Opening with a bound-to-be Single of "Hello Aquarius," Emm shows that she can play the many instuments just as well as she can sing its songs. The most unusally captivating song on Public is Acid. Sounding a little like Angel, Emm makes an extremly 'addictive' solo piano melody out of it. And if that isn't a great sound for you, try "This Mad," and note at how the London session Orchesta just adds to the divinity to this track. Just imagine it live....... I do miss gettng the mail from the list. Everytime I'd go on line my mailbox would be full. Now it's sort of empty. :-( Anyway, until just recently I haven't had much time to get on the computer because of finals and just how busy I've been this summer. My summer has been okay so far, just really busy and all my friends are gone on vacation. Oh well! I'm glad to hear that Fiona is back in the studio because I have baisically worn out my Tidal cd from playing it so much. Okay, I'll stop talking about myself now. Well, I'm hoping that people saw Raffis letter (like I did) and decides to drop a little note by the apple tree.
