I miss you. I agree that female artists who rock have been hard to find. In general, it was really nice just to see artists like Adele, The Joy Formidable, and Lykke Li get airplay on new rock stations. Hopefully we don't cycle back to rap metal again tooooo quickly... I thought Dead Sara, who opened for Bush, have the right idea. Chick climbed up the speaker stack and jumped off. I miss that; shows are all so *polite* these days. I heard Dum Dum Girls a lot on XM's college station. Leaning more toward pop than rock, Christina Perri and Katie Herzig blew me away with their albums. Tori Amos has revitalized herself, but she did a classical album to do so; waiting to see what her reboot will do for her own work. Agnes Obel was another big non-rock discovery for me. Here's hoping for more than an occasional Poe show and guest appearance in 2012! *Thrilled* for Garbage's new album and tour this year! - --Michele - -----Original Message----- From: Robert Cobb Subject: NPR Wonem who kicked my lame @$$ 2011 In keeping up my annual Psycho tradition, I share my list of female artists that rocked my ass in the past year. This year was pretty thin, I only heard The Birthday Massacre's EP "Imaginary Monsters" containing 3 new kick ass songs and a few remixes (including a Tweaker Mix by Chris Vrenna). Nightwish has a new album out, but I have yet to hear it. :( Any suggestions in the absence of our Mistress of Groove? ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V15 #18 ***********************************
