It is the (sold out) 1997 issue #13 of Rockrgrl magazine ( http://www.rockrgrl.com/ ) featuring Poe on the cover, and it is autographed ( 2001 @ Toronto show ) by Poe. http://www.rocpic.com/poe/poemag.html It will be auctioned in the very near future with proceeds to benefit http://wber.monroe.edu . WBER celebrated their 20th birthday this year, that's 20 years of Alternative music, how many radio stations can make that claim? As a .edu, they rely on "underwriting" by local businesses to fund them, and the paid staff of TWO on $50,000.00 a year. I have heard they are short 20,000 this year, and will be looking for listeners to pretty much get behind them to cover most expenses in the coming years, or they will be going off the air. WBER has been auctioning various items over the last couple of weeks such as photos , CD's, etc... , signed by the artist, in hopes of getting a small fraction of the funds they need, the rest ( which I am confident they will get ) will come straight from the pockets of listeners with the continued operation of the station as their reward. Most items have gone for $250.00 or less I hope nobody starts hollering about ??? Anything. I'd say it is pretty safe to say that if you looked at the WBER logs there has probably just about not been one week in the last 10 years that went by without Poe on the WBER airwaves, which is something I think everybody here should be happy to support. Perhaps more importantly, WBER, the artists they play, and those who listen are very much like family, there is a lot of love for Poe at WBER, and you may be sure that when RePoe records or http://realpoe.com becomes active on the music scene you will be hearing it on WBER . I hope this will be one of the more sought after items, generating a day of Poe talk on WBER, who knows maybe a note from Poe about the future? Aside from the stations format, here are some specialty shows that may be of interest. *Monday * Spotlight Review - Review of new releases from WBER's Music Critic. 9pm - 9:30pm Bob *Tuesday * First Impressions - A weekly look at all the new releases that have come in to WBER. 8:00-10:00pm *Wednesday * Indie Show - 2 hours of music exclusively from Independent labels. 8:00-10:00 P.M. *Thursday * Universal Buzz Radio - Syndicated radio show featuring exclusive live performances. 9pm - 10pm *Friday * Friday Morning Show 6am - 9am The "FMS" or "Friday Morning Show" is talk radio featuring the station manager Joey Guisto, DJ Sgt. Pepper (most Poe playin DJ @ BER) and Lil Jess, with lots of music, music talk, movie reviews, guests, and more etc.... a good time to ask questions, and win stuff. I will post to the list when the auctions starts. If you get the "Digest" and would like to be notified directly send me an e-mail stating so and I will CC you a copy of the notice to the list. Enjoy, Good Luck, etc.... sp00k ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V11 #30 ***********************************
