I just hope you, Poe, are not sitting in a hole, bored and broke, considering the options of digging a deeper hole. You are a gift -- official or not. This "Angry Psycho" requests a Platinum Record to match the Gold. Shit, you may be Alf, in a female form... Now that would rule! Nah' - Alf's fingers were too short. Love, Poe.Org ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2004 02:47:48 -0400 From: "Jaimie Hawk" Subject: NPR: Angry Psychos listed on NYSE I've Been on this list probably since sometime in 98. I rarely if ever post. Back in the day it was a pretty cool little forum for organizing events, sharing info ect. But I really can't blame Poe for backing away from this list. That 's all it is "a list". A place to share info. Remember when we used to surf around the web, find all the little poe tid bits then come back and share it with everyone? Now we're all teary eyed cus we have to get our info from her website, something she probably hopes to make some cash off of eventually. If anyone should be able to start some sort of a fan club called "angry Psychos" and make some cash, I'm hoping it's poe. This is just a list to share rides, bootlegs, ect. You don't get any bonus point cus you've been here since nineteen ninety whatever. Watching some of the psycho's (and I don't mean AP's) that have bit into poe over the years has been fascinating. I thought that guy Dan was gunna be like the chick who shot selena. You want to be an "official fan club" good for you, send poe some cash and maybe you can get t-shirt and a news letter or some stupid bullshit. you want to support poe? Buy something instead of trying to get it for free. Poe is one of the most accessible musicians ever. So if she didn't tell you what she had for breakfast this morning don't run for the box of tissues. There's nothing here anymore.............. it's time to unsubscribe. PS The sneetches reference ruled! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2004 07:00:11 -0700 (PDT) From: Brad Walsh Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V9 #126 angry-psychos-digest wrote: Date: Sun, 22 Aug 2004 17:46:23 EDT From: RachCooks@aol.com Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V9 #124 I think it's extremely shitty of you to be disappointed in Poe because the Goddess isn't producing records according to YOUR calendar. Grow up and be patient. I'm disappointed in YOU. - ------------ for fucking real, rachel! sorry to you people who are gung-ho about this "finally speaking the truth about disappointment in poe" bullshit, but come on. it was five years between hello and haunted, and look at what a masterpiece that wait brought us. not to mention that this particular downtime is littered with court issues and other unpleasant roadblocks... you know poe reads the ap list, and i think it's pretty shitty to tell everyone that deep down, her most loyal fans are all feeling disappointment in her. aside from it being untrue, where exactly does that get you? doesn't get you a new album or tour any sooner, and it certainly doesn't win you any poe points. and like rachel, i'm not particularly the kind of person who rebuts everything i disagree with on this list. i rarely write anything any more. but this one struck a nerve. brad Brad Walsh http://www.bradwalsh.com Photographer, Writer, Musician. They were really so small You might think such a thing wouldnt matter at all..." Sorry folks, couldn't resist. Its good to see this list still has a pulse. I'm not going to year drop because I think the majority of us AP's were turned from the moment we heard our first Poe song. Some of us took longer than others to find the list. For me it was Hello. When I joined the list it was in the middle of a flame war of some sort. I was blown away by the vehemence I found here. I can't remember what everyone was yelling about but man were they angry. This list could never carry another moniker. I am impatiently waiting for the next album. It gives me time to fidget, worry about the slings and arrows keeping Poe on a shelf, and enjoy everything she has released thus far. Recently I heard the hard-core remix of Hello on local radio (94.7knrk). That version is the closest recording out there to what Poe sounds like live. I got that old familiar tingly all over feeling and added some extra blocks to my drive home, hope renewed.
