Subject: PR: a question.... I was just remembering an article that i read about HoL and a public reading Mark did with Poe. The author made note of all the fans that were there, some clutching HoL like a bible, some holding Haunted above their heads, and some doing both (what i would be doing), and i was wondering what it would be like to be there. There was a Q&A session, where those fans, and some critics, i suppose, could ask Poe or Mark questions. I asked myself, "what would i ask them? would i ask them seperate questions? COULD i? I would studder and blush, wouldn't i?" I decided that my questions would be for both of them, not either of them but BOTH. What is their relationship with their mother? "...called my mother said 'hi.' what i meant to say was 'why is your life a joke?'" This lyrics says something to many of us. It means something to Poe, but what? And as for Mark, JT's mother was ate by the whale when he was six or seven and lived there until she died(?). Also, Johnny blames his father for taking his mother to the Whale. Why? Why would Poe say "why is your life a joke?" to her mother? Does anyone here know? I am sure that i am missing something, or i have forgotten something. ...Perhaps not. You always hear how close they were to their father. What about their mother? I was just wondering if anyone could help me out. Thank you. Peace! I love you, Poe! - -wes Wes* "Through dangers un-told, And hardships un-numbered......" -From the movie Labyrinth _________________________________________________________________ Check out the coupons and bargains on MSN Offers! http://shopping.msn.com/softcontent/softcontent.aspx?scmId=1418 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jan 2004 16:57:59 -0500 From: "Mike Herchenroder" Subject: RE: PR: a question.... wes, i've thought the same thing before! I'm wondering if Mark and Poe grew up without their mother around, similar to Johnnys mother. Maybe the book is just an example of the pain that Mark went through as a child growing up without his mother. And haunted has SO MANY influences from the book, it seems a strong case that poe was greatly influenced as she read what mark wrote. /insert thinking noise From: "Wes* J."
