I love you Poe. There is nothing that could make me not love you for the gifts you have given me. Your music has been an inspiration to me. It has gotten me through times of grief and given me power when I could have been weak. Listening to your music made me realize that there are other people out there who feel the way I do, it has given me validation for emotions that people around me marginalize. Your artwork has given me an outlet for a part of me that is misunderstood; it continually brings beauty to my darkest hours. This and much much more than words can express is the reason that I consider myself a member of this community. Your inspiration, strength and beauty are what compell me to call myself an "angrypsycho" (as unsure as I origionally was in adopting this title.) Whether or not the media has given, or will give, the proper attention to your music {your amazing artwork as a whole or "Haunted" - your masterpiece, in my opinion the greatest lyrical masterpiece of all time;} it is undeniable that you are sucessful as an artist. "Haunted" is an incerdibly well executed expression of an experience; of an indescribable journey linked to the experiences you shared with your brother. The craft, art and skill you demonstrated in this work alone is enough to rank you with the greatest artistic geniuses whether or not it ever recieved recognition by a single other human being. But you did recieve recognition. Look at the angrypsychos. An insane community of people who have a great deal in common. They never shut up, can't help their constant chatter about EVERYTHING, and they all came together because of one thing: their apprecition for your artwork. In fact, I would almost say that the angrypsycho family is truly another work of art that you created - knowingly or not. When you think about it, we are like a family. Some of us have been around since the begining and know the history better than people like me ever will. But this is a family that is continuing to grow as all families do. We have fudes and stupid arguments, we talk about our lives and are there to offer support when any of us are experiencing trauma. We joke around and discuss politics and religion... I feel like this is thanksgiving, only I know it's a few weeks early. Thank you Poe, thank you APs; you are my inspirtation and an odd family of sorts. Poe, if you weren't wonderful, I wouldn't run around using your quotes in conversation. I wouldn't sing your songs until my best friend (who actually introduced me to your music) groans and rolls her eyes. I wouldn't introduce everyone I know to your music and try to get everyone to listen to you. (In fact, I have only met a few people who haven't been blown away by your talent regardless of what they usually listen to.) My artwork, poetry and journaling would not all contain an element of your work or Mark's, and I would not phrase my thoughts and view of the universe in terms of your concepts and poetry. If you weren't a Goddess, your creations would not be woven indistinguishably into my very existance. "All of the ink that has blead from your hands has painted a picture that she understands, it's amazing. It's a maze..." Love always, your devoted angrypsycho daughter, ~Dre __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! I called Jessie to confirm the interview, and she said she didn't want me to promote this as it's not 100% definite yet. However, I don't want to risk not letting the APs know in advance. You can listen to the station on the internet at www.kdge.com. I'm supposed to get a phone call from Jessie once she touches base with Poe this afternoon, but if you don't mind listening to the station anyway I'd feel better, as I'm having a busy first day back at work after 3 wks in England. The station was playing a brief clip of a conversation with Poe, and Poe mentioned something about how everyone should spend 8 months on a rugby team...maybe that's the secret behind her new glow??? I guess I'll have to listen along with everyone else to find out. Fingers crossed this interview comes off today! If not, I'll let you know whatever I hear about a reschedule. pSyChO hUgS, Bren ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Nov 2003 18:11:31 EST From: Rach2414@aol.com Subject: POE interview today... Brenda just talked to Jessie, Poe has not called in yet, but she says IS still expected to, when she calls the interview will be recorded and played sometime in the next week. Jessie has promised to notify Brenda of a more certain time and she will post that information. Listen to KDGE this next week there will be some interesting things happening that are Poe related. More to follow on that as well. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Nov 2003 16:25:29 -0800 (PST) From: Brendles Subject: Re: POE interview today...DELAYED Dan, thanks for passing the info along... Unfortunately, the interview did not go as planned. I've gotten a promise from Jessie to call me when she knows when the interview will air. From what I gather, if Poe calls back tonight it will be recorded and played later in the week. Otherwise, it may be rescheduled. I appreciate Joe's offer on capturing the interview (whenever it may be) to convert to mp3, as I have no idea how to capture, etc., and figure my laptop isn't powerful enough to do so (at least with the limitations of a dial up connection). I'll be sure to keep everyone informed as soon as I hear anything! As for the second part of Dan's message, there will be another interview that will most likely be Poe-related on KDGE Wednesday sometime between 2pm and 7pm Central Time. Again, I will have more info for you all as soon as I am informed. Otherwise, I'm gonna have a pretty big file by the time I get home from work! A lot of people have emailed asking how I do the capture. It isn't all that hard but takes some fiddling. A SoundBlaster Live 5.1 and Adobe Audition capturing the "What I Hear" mixer channel on a PC. Getting it distributed might be the hard part. Anyone know how many of us there are here?
