He used pieces of different movie genres to get the feel he wanted. Old westers, italian films, old horror movies and old cult kung fu movies. It will be one I add to my collection to go alongside reservior dogs and pulp fiction. It was a wonderful film, I'm actually going to see it for the 2nd time this weekend. It just seemed so spontaneous. I loved "Kill Bill" but it wasn't what I had expected. >From: Lok Tina >To: Joe F , angry-psychos@smoe.org >Subject: Re: NPR Kill Bill >Date: Tue, 14 Oct 2003 12:01:45 -0700 (PDT) >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Received: from mc2-f5.hotmail.com ([65.54.237.12]) by mc2-s19.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.5600); Tue, 14 Oct 2003 12:05:11 -0700 >Received: from smoe.org ([199.201.145.78]) by mc2-f5.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.5600); Tue, 14 Oct 2003 12:02:39 -0700 >Received: from smoe.org (ident-user@localhost [127.0.0.1])by smoe.org (8.12.10/8.12.10) with ESMTP id h9EJ1ti7023307for ; Tue, 14 Oct 2003 15:01:55 -0400 (EDT) >Received: (from majordom@localhost)by smoe.org (8.12.10/8.12.10/Submit) id h9EJ1tJ3023306for angry-psychos-outgoing; Tue, 14 Oct 2003 15:01:55 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from web41006.mail.yahoo.com (web41006.mail.yahoo.com [66.218.93.5]) by smoe.org (8.12.10/8.12.10) with SMTP id h9EJ1pi7023291 for ; Tue, 14 Oct 2003 15:01:52 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from [68.7.60.230] by web41006.mail.yahoo.com via HTTP; Tue, 14 Oct 2003 12:01:45 PDT >X-Message-Info: wCrlMA1YA+hjBuzFkF7+PJ3gwlwHbbn5ELFbZhwGoCY= >X-Authentication-Warning: smoe.org: majordom set sender to owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org using -f >Message-ID: <20031014190145.30759.qmail@web41006.mail.yahoo.com> >In-Reply-To: >X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on jane.smoe.org >X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.9 required=5.0 tests=FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS, MAILTO_TO_SPAM_ADDR autolearn=no version=2.60 >X-Spam-Level: * >X-Virus-Scanned: clamdscan / ClamAV version 0.60 >X-Virus-Scanned: clamdscan / ClamAV version 0.60 >Sender: owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org >Precedence: bulk >X-To-Unsubscribe: Send mail to "angry-psychos-request@smoe.org" >X-To-Unsubscribe: with "unsubscribe" as the body. >Return-Path: owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 14 Oct 2003 19:02:42.0595 (UTC) FILETIME=[BECD7F30:01C39285] > > >most of the dialogue was reminiscent of martial arts >movies. the one liners- all of it. it was done on >purpose. that's why it differs from "pulp fiction" >--- Joe F wrote: > > > > I think it's too early to say whether or not he has > > outdone Pulp > > Fiction. How's everyone doin'? I do hope fine. I am writing in regards to what happened between a friend and myself. It was nothing totally major, but it got me thinking about the subject line. Me and Carol were just hangin' out at the mall, and all of a sudden a female voice on the intercom goes onsinging along the chorus lines of : "Erase and Rewind..." It sounded something out of the Lilith Fair era. It could have been Garbage, maybe not, but it got my friend talking. Carol: What Poe song is this? Me: Huh? Carol: It doesn't sound off her "Hello" album, so what song is it. Me: I don't think that it is Poe. Carol: C'mon you look like a Poe fan. Me: Whadya mean? Carol: You just look like a Poe fan who would have all her albums. The funny thing is that my friend didn't know that I adore Poe. (I didn't even think she knew who Poe was?!!) So what exactly is it that would make her say " a Poe fan"? I totally worship the woman even if she were to do a shitty popify move ala Jewel. I'm in my 20's, and I listen to mostly all kinds of music. So I ask y'all what exactly defines a Poe fan? ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V8 #226 ***********************************
