This is Joss, formerly of irockedyermom@aol.com and dyskrasia@sbcglobal.net (I mostly lurked as dyskrasia); we switched internet providers so I'm back under my domain email. Anyway...since I missed messages for the past few weeks I don't know if anyone brought this up at all on the list. Has anyone checked out Placebo's latest album, "Sleeping With Ghosts"? I kept listening to it a few months ago at Tower Records' listening station because I couldn't afford to buy it yet. I finally bought it about a week ago and I seriously have been listening to it ever since. I haven't taken it out of my CD player and sometimes I have a few tracks on repeat at night (because I burned them to one of my machines, yey). I'm mentioning this because some of the tracks remind me of songs on Poe's "Haunted," specifically track #7, "Plasticine." I don't know if that's because it has kind of ghostly sounds on it, or what. Also the beats to "Something Rotten" remind me of "Junkie"... Even if I'm crazy and I'm the only one who prolly sees the similarities, I urge everyone to get this album (if you haven't already) because it's freakin brilliant. I don't think I've been this obsessed with an album since Haunted came out, and as we all know it's been awhile since that came out ;) I loved Placebo's earlier albums, but I think this is by far my favorite. I wonder how it would sound if Placebo had Poe do guest vocals on a song or if they collaborated on some project together! Joscelyne PS Robert, I'm sorry I'm a dork and sent you this email twice on accident... I hate outlook express. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2003 18:06:01 -0700 (PDT) From: Robert Cobb Subject: KPR: Placebo and Poe (redirected) Hey all.
