There is just something about that voice that gives me chills - that's what makes her songs. Evanescence? Cummon, that would be like Poe immitating someone who's immitating Poe (and not as good either). With respect, that's just my two cent's worth. ~Dre > Date: Wed, 25 Jun 2003 22:39:21 -0700 (PDT) > From: Alicia Hackney > Subject: Re: POE REQUESTS....and MONKEY BONE TOOO! > > Hmmm... > > Anything by Sarah MacGlaughlin > and Haunted by Evanescence. > > I'd love to hear her sing some of my stuff but that > will never happen. lol. > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? A duet with Karyn Crisis would be awesome. Karyn's wide vocal range from sweet caressing to pained suffering to deathmetal growl, With Poe's seductive hypnotic voice. They would rule the world :-) + KarynCrisis.com ; Crisis Interview @ www.bushmado.com Learn more about Karyn Crisis she is hardcore & rocks she totally kicks ass and takes names. Unfortunatley the band is still reforming after a off the path venture skullsicknation.com The 3 songs they did under thant name kicked ass and can't wait till the new crisis album eventually comes out. Ok well thats my plug & Poe when you comeing to Alaska? I'll take ya fishing :-) heehee ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jun 2003 14:38:59 -0700 (PDT) From: Alicia Hackney Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V8 #135 Well fine, but that is your opinion and frankly I still would love to hear that - --- Andrea Horvath wrote: > > As much as I LOVE Poe and think she has an amazing > voice, I don't honestly think that there is anyone > who > could reproduce Sarah McLachlin. Maybe some PJ Harvey, "Where the Wild Roses Grow" or some other Nick Cave, or some Leonard Cohen Sweet Collaborations: Revisited (Some of the older APs might remember when I'd post some duets that I thought would be cool. Well, it's back) Poe and Tori Poe and Maynard (of Tool) Evanescence and Linkin Park Speaking of Evanescence, I think they sound less like Poe and more like Joydrop, with a touch of Concrete Blonde. ===== Adahlfin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? LOL) I adore them both as much as it is possible. Poe would do an amazing cover of anything of hers, but their styles don't really mesh much, and Sarah's just so amazing that she OWNS her material... like... I don't think anyone could do a better job than her. Same with Poe. Sarah could in NO WAY reproduce Poe's stuff. Both are extremely wonderful, and no one can really touch their material. I'd like to actually see Poe work with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt since we never really got the Gwen vocals on Rise & Shine! (haha this is fun to have my three favorite women in music in the same email...) Poe could do some great covers of so many things... my mind's blank right now though. All the suggestions thus far are great. Oooooh, maybe Poe could do a Nirvana cover? - -Michael aka smileyllama http://poe.fateback.com _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V8 #136 ***********************************
