I'm interested on your opinions of Christianity during the times of the Holocaust, when Jew upon Jew was murdered and Christians just sat there in silence as if it didn't happen, a good example is Pope Pius (or Pious) the XI I think it was. He actually was anti-Semitic but Catholics will argue that he wasn't. There are plenty of times where Christians were witnesses of brutal killings, and sat there and did nothing; something Jesus would clearly disapprove of. Hitler was not Christian, nor was his government. Christians were sent to the concentration camps as well. As i said, i have nothing against muslims. I would just be overly joyed if they did not kill those like me... Muslims believe Jesus is a prophet, but they do not believe he is the son of god, nor do they worship him. I have a friend who is muslim. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 31 Dec 2002 13:14:59 -0500 From: CtProse10@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR Holocaust Your thoughts intrigue [s/o] me, and i will answer those that i can, as best as i can. First off, I will not defend the vatican. Many Catholic beliefs go directly against the Bible. My brother goes to a Catholic college, and I am horrified at what they teach him there. During the holocaust Christians were also sentenced to Death Camps, and many and a network was astablished by Christians so smugle Jews out of the country. Actually, i am currently reading a book on the underground movement of the Holocaust... You have to remember though, that those who are truly Christian would not fight, even if they were the ones being put to death. An open war with the "SS" would do nothing more than get yourself killed, and expose the locations of the "safe houses." Also, it is against the scriptures to raise a fist against they enemy... For in the book of acts it states that blessed is he who suffers for Christ. [paraphrased] I would like to discuss/elaborate on this point further. But it has been a little while since I have read thru the Book of acts, or the four gospels. I would be overly pleased to answer, or at least see what other questions/thoughts you may have. For this kind of talk, I find overly pleasing...
