Okay I've been listening to this little disc I made over and over and It's come to a point. The disc is just five tracks on a 3"CD. They are 1. The Intrusion & Madwoman by Mark Z. Danielewski (magically merged by me) 2. Center of the Sun by Poe (featuring Conjure One, cuz you know she deserves way more credit) 3. Enter The Beast by MZD 4. Make A Wish by Poe 5. Exit The Man by MZD. The point is, I've decided to start either writing bits of a screenplay version of the Navidson Record or making up storyboards for scenes I can't get out of my head, even though the images were "conjured" in my skull. I've thought about it all a lot. I'd love to actually make a film version, but who has a couple million lying around to do even a low budget picture? But given that and the fact that I might get a few if mixed reactions to the above, I was wondering who everyone (for those who have taken the time to read this far.) would cast for the various parts given our current line-up of actors and actresses. Not that I'd ever have access to them but It might give me a better idea of how to write them. I was, needless to say, disappointed. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 09:29:52 -0700 From: "Bill Watson" Subject: Re: HOL/POE-R (where do you draw the line?) Actually a friend of mine back in LA contacted me after he read the book and we joked about "If" they could make a movie out of it. Although he disagrees I think this type of insanity should be directed by David Lynch (Naked Lunch, Lost Highway, Twin Peaks and other classics) Unfortunatly the only cast member we could think of is Zamapno played by Ian McKellen and Navidson played by William Hurt. The rest need to be unknown actors. HOL is an experimental piece of literature. Not a novle. How do you make a movie about an experimental piece of literature without distroying the true nature and meaning of the text? That's a good point, and I understand where both you and Mark are coming from, which is why I am neither trying to capture the book itself or do a transfer to film. Instead I want to faux document fragments from the book, as if it were a historical work. Just little key elements that I've visualized and want to put on paper/film. In the end it will all be for my own business, I'd never attempt to sell any of it, or take credit for it.
