Greetings, I have a programming question... I am attempting to set up a piece of programming that has a POP-UP window that stays on the "top level" all of the time and the links in that POP-UP window will resolve in the BROWSER WINDOW that generated the POP-UP window in the first place. Okay, on to the next topic (and one of my favorites) Girls!: I'll just speak from my experience (not that its vast or I'm bossanova (or is that cassanova?) or anything like that). For me, the initial striking up of a conversation is the hardest. Sometimes just saying 'hi' will open the doors to a conversation, other times (and it all depends on the girl) you have to be more patient. Don't try to force a conversation (or worse yet, just walk up to her and ask her out to dinner or something) it shows desperation (which is one reason I stayed single throughout all of high school, I was too desperate). I think getting to know her in a comfortable social context (i.e. school) for both of you is a good start, it gives both of you 'options' if things awry and suddenly you're asking yourself "why am I talking to this person?" when you start learning things about her that maybe you don't like or when things get a bit too uncomfortable, you have a million and one reasons to bail. Also it allows her comfort level to not be broached as she can bail if she gets weirded out or whatever and isn't in a strange place or away from home with a relative stranger. When she talks, listen. Don't feign interest, it's insulting and they can tell (trust me on this!). You also might be missing out on some key things she's telling you that you'll want to know. (like: "I'm an axe murderer on the weekends!". Also, if you're a good listener (which means not already thinking of what you're going to say next, in general its bad to have something rehearsed, it never goes the way you plan) you will find that you can keep the conversation going. It's also my experience that if she gives you monosyllablic answers after a couple of times of trying to talk to her, she's either as exciting as grass growing or she is just not interested in talking to you. So if you ask her a question that's a little more in depth than a simple "yes" or "no" and you basically get nothing from her, say: "nice talking to you" and get the hell out of dodge. All the other approaches: Asking her out to the local choke & puke *snicker* , complimenting her *very important, but be sincere* and what not are great ones. The best is knocking her over the head though, I mean what girl wouldn't 'knocked off her feet' with that approach? >=) It's just getting that far can be tricky. Most importantly just be yourself, show interest, but don't cling on. Behave with dignity, grace and sincerity and you'll do just fine. That's my theory, anyways. You can get a demo download at their site and then if you buy it you get a serial number that makes it a full version. Of course there are also carcks and keygens all over the underweb, but they don't always have them that work for the latest version of Nero. As for CD ripping, I love "Free Rip MP3", a freeware ripper that can rip to .wav files or .mp3. http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#root http://www.freerip.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Sep 2002 17:16:25 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: Walk the Walk and cd burner prog. Talk about being a perfectionist. Fulber traveled the world for inspiration, christened himself Conjure One and created a mesmerizing collection of electronic ambience for his self-titled album. He's meticulous with his craft; Conjure One intricately swirls around worldbeat tinges and vocalists such as Argentinean singer Marie Claire D'Ubaldo and controversial Irish beauty Sinead O'Connor. "Center of the Sun" is a honeyed melody featuring the blissfully shadowy vocals of singer/songwriter Poe. She and Fulber are a matchless pair. "Make A Wish" is equally intoxicating with lush instrumentation. Israeli songstress Chemda is a fitting choice as well; "Redemption" resonates with Chemda's classic vocal chant for a sultry Middle Eastern musical reconnaissance, slightly reminiscent of Kate Bush's work with Trio Bulgarka. Fulber has done a magnificent job this round. Conjure One is a vibrant look at Fulber's talent and showcases his ability to shine on his own.
