I have declined, but since many of you have been so supportive and may be affected by this decision, I feel I owe you an explanation, it's a bit wordy, so read it or not: :) I originally offered the Psycho's Know design in an effort to provide AP's with an item to help identify each other at shows as well as give us a way to show our pride as Angry Psycho's. In the event I was to ever turn a profit, the proceeds would go to Poe or to the charity of her choice. Before we ever got a chance to get "in the black" I was contacted by Angie who asked me politely to sell the remaining merchandise, but since it utilized Poe's image pull the plug on psychothreads. At that time, sales were dropping off sharply, and I was spending every free moment trying to process, print, and ship the individual orders. Quite frankly, it was a SERIOUS pain in the ass, but I didn't mind because it was being so well received by the AP's, and I felt like I was fulfilling a longtime need for AP identity apparel. It was fun and cool! After speaking with Angie, and knowing that her wishes were Poe's wishes, I decided to take a loss on the remaining inventory and pull the plug, thus getting my life back in the process. Then I was repeatedly contacted by Dan, who can be VERY persuasive, and I decided to supply HIM with the products to sell on the BBS, or AP store as long as Poe's name or image was NOT used. I didn't really think it was a very good idea, and as I have told him more than once, it just felt WRONG. I have asked him why he insists on promoting the store despite Poe's obvious objections, and he told me he wanted her to know that when her "romance" (and all it entails) comes crumbling down, we were here for her all along. I can respect that answer, and even almost understand his reasoning. Because of that, and the fact that I have so much respect for Dan and all he has done for me and for the AP's, I agreed to supply him with the new ad specialty products. (keychains, antenna balls, etc) By this time, I was doing this for Dan and for no other reason since I didn't feel it was really necessary. In my honest opinion, there is no need for the AP store. I feel like we really don't have the right to offer merchandise relative to Poe without her consent. Am I wrong? I made it clear to Dan that I didn't want to have anything to do with the actual distribution of these products, but since they would only sport the ANGRY PSYCHO logo and NOT Poe's name or image, I didn't mind supplying the items. I had serious reservations about the new shirt with the PSYCHO text, but knew legally we were ok as long as we used a different font, as the word psycho cannot be copyrighted, though the design itself using the same font is. Legally I was ok, morally it bothered me, but I was willing to help Dan with his effort to promote Poe even if I didn't necessarily agree with the idea of continuing a project against Poe's wishes. It seemed harmless enough. But now Dan is no longer involved. I love Poe. I love being an Angry Psycho, especially since I am, literally. :) I love Dan. I am sad to see him being pushed away from the Angry Psychos. I have loved the support and kindness I received from the AP's during the Psychothread days. I can only hope that through my efforts to provide you with Angry Psycho Gear I have made at least a little mark in the AP history books, because I am afraid that my psychothread days are over. I will always be an Angry Psycho, even if I am not an active participant in the day to day operations. If you've made it this far, thanks for listening, and I'm really sorry that I will no longer be able to supply AP products. As I've said all along - Angry Psychos RULE!! NPR Hi Julie! Doing a google search on "I love myself today" turns up Bif Naked. Their style would match your L7/Joan Jett description, so I'd say we have a match. Thanks for mentioning this, I have been meaning to get a Bif Naked album for a while but it keeps slipping my mind.
