Lapidus) that there are seven accepted versions of the Qu'ran. Unfortunately I can't find the passage. The reason for this is because Muhammad received the revelations over such a long period of time, and later Muslim scholars disagreed over the different versions. Finally, they agreed to accept seven versions as correct. - ----Original Message Follows---- From: tohaveaplan@att.net To: angry-psychos@smoe.org (Poe mail list) Subject: NPR: Muslim religion points explained further Date: Wed, 28 Aug 2002 20:49:50 +0000 For all those who have been following the convo here is a CC: Christopher, While I agree wholeheartedly with you about religion being used and interpreted to best serve Man instead of God, I can tell you with most certainty that you will NOT find different versions of the Q'uran (Koran). That is one thing Muslims pride themselves entirely upon. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Aug 2002 10:48:51 -0400 From: "crack head" Subject: Re: NPR: Morpheus Down The Crapper I've been using KaZaa, which I thougth was Morpheus, only better. It's FREE and easy to use. Anyways, I've heard of some programs that you can download that allow other people, usually a university/ college, to use your unused CPU power to solve complex questions. The "official" name eludes me right now but by having a bit here and there from different computers they in effect have a huge super computer to solve the problems with the world. It's kind of like volunteering except to don't have to move much. If anyone is interested you can find what these programs are called at www.thescreensavers.com under "geek library" on the left side. > > I've been using KaZaa, which I thougth was Morpheus, only better.
