Never attempt to remove an object with a cotton swab or household items such as matches or toothpicks; you could end up pushing it farther in and causing damage. so that's bad news . . . about the q-tip. A number of ingenious extraction methods have been devised for removing foreign objects from the nose and ears. A bead in a nostril, for example, can be popped out by blowing into the mouth while holding the other nostril closed. Skilled practitioners have removed peas from the ears by tiny improvised corkscrews; marbles by q-tips with super glue. Tweezers often work well, too. Insects can be floated out of the ear by pouring warm (not hot) mineral oil, olive oil, or baby oil into the ear canal. Items that are lodged deep in the ear canal are more difficult to remove because of the possibility of damaging the ear drum. These require emergency treatment from a qualified physician. though these are creative . . . bottom line --- GO SEE A DOCTOR! ///Andrea littleREDelf - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Saturday, August 24, 2002 2:19 AM Subject: NPR: EAR EMERGENCY NPR Howdy! I figured the P4 was using positive rising edge/positive falling edge/negative falling edge/negative rising edge per cycle. Do you know if the default "fallback" mode of the P4 bus is all the way back to 100/133Mhtz...or does it go to DDR? Back in the early/mid 80s I, along with my ex-wife (a programmer) and an electronic engineer friend, used something like DDR on a peak detector device we made to interface musical instruments to a Commodore 64. You could "play" the SID chip with an electric guitar/mic/sax/flute/etc. After filtering to clean up harmonic content, the detector flip-flopped from positive to negative side of the waveform and compared the two to output a stable square wave...which we then used via a timer onboard the 'puter to calculate values for the frequency control registers on the SID (a 3 voice, 9 octave synth...complete with envelope generators/filters/VCA). The thing sounded outrageous! It could do double ring mod or hard sync, as well as cross mod (ring+sync)...we had filter sweeps and octave splitting and vibrato, et al. It made sounds I haven't heard since. Unfortunately we couldn't sell it since music equipment manufacturers are so paranoid they would only deal for something that was complete and market-ready. Our device was quicker and more stable than a Roland too. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 12:40:04 -0400 From: "sp00k@poe.org" Subject: Re: Dan stabbed at RAINN event? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrea E. NOTHING bad was ever said about POE on the DBR, EVERYONE would llike to hear from her. Dan's dealings with this personal attacks though unfortunately aired on the DBR are still his own dealings. and they have been removed. and that is no longer an issue. all "angry author" material about Angie was purged from the DBR after she cleaned up p-o-e and allowed users back in. that is also no longer an issue. as for being a two-faced son of a bitch, luckily i am a daughter, of divorced and remarried parents, unless you'd like to pick another derrogatory term for me, which you have done in the past. and you have a few faces yourself: one talks about the DBR supposedly controlling info: "Who is this "WE" that is controlling access to information? The main form of communications for the Angry Psychos is the e-mail list." which means that the AP list is the end all be all, and NO ONE else. so it's ok for the AP list and not p-o-e or the DBR or shell or poe.org all of which/whom host the same information. THAT is a contradiction. we are all (i hope) attempting equal sharing of info just in different medias. and then when anyone from the DBR have albeitm, BAD attempts at posting links to info when we've learned that at least you as a user would like to see it all typed out, people get blown sideways about trying to "direct traffic" to the DBR of which you said: "The DBR is really a major distraction, but perhaps it would not be if you would just shut up and your cast of clowns would stop working on their version of an online utopia for a group that is called the Angry Psychos. Get real will ya?" the only only directing traffic is YOU everytime you spew some awful insult. 25 new users this week. And i sure the fuck hope it's a major distraction. we have to something while we have no POE to argue about and clamor for attention, no wonder she doesn't talk to us, and tries to disassociate herself. maybe ALL of our times have come, all the stratifications, all the factions all the elitists. all the bullshit which saps my and other's energies. i have only tried to create a fun space, Dan is not even involved: he dumped the bandwidth on me and Zoey and said run with it and do it. and and "online utopia" is NOT a bad thing to strive for considering the nature of the nonsensical arguing that goes on here. if all POE references were removed from the DBR, it would be a peaceful place entirely, and much to your satisfaction, that is a great possibility. ///Andrea littleREDelf ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 17:18:19 -0400 From: JSens70632@aol.com Subject: Re: Dan stabbed at RAINN event? wow..i guess i havent been paying much attention to posts lately, because i have no idea what all this is about....so i guess im also on the out.. oh well poe still rocks!! :) ~*jessica*~ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 17:30:39 -0400 From: "Conor Riley" Subject: Re: Dan stabbed at RAINN event? The BELONG to the AP's, I didn't hear about any vote on this, you people do absolutely run things like a DICTARTORSHIP, and now just like TRUE NAZI's you will now TRY to rewrite HISTORY! What did DAN the head of the DBR say happen to the money from the Poe Store? Did you PURGE that one also? What are you trying to hide? You can say what you want about me, but it is "professionals" like you and your friends that make me wonder whose couch does a shrink lay on. sp00k etc ... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2002 23:34:03 -0500 From: "Sara McCullar" Subject: give me 5 reasons to stay i was gonna go with 10 but hell if someone can tell me 5 reasons to stay on the angry psychos list and be somewhat glad to be an angry psycho then i might stick around. you people, god, don't you know that people don't care about your petty fights you have against a certain person or message boards or what not. if you're going to start name calling and such then take it to private email.. i don't think i'm the only one that doesn't give a shit.. if i am then well i am... i would also like to state that when you accept a position of some sort of power in a community you will get hate mail and such from people.. you can't please everyone.. don't bitch about it.. just deal with it and move on.. and don't take everything bad said as an attack at you or whatever it is you are involved with because guess what.. there are some people who just like to state what they think and have no intentions of attacking anyone. i left.. i came back because i thought maybe things had changed.. i guess thats probably too much to have hoped for. You should stay, because there will always be something in your inbox. You should stay because I like your attitude towards all this, You should stay because you love poe (hopefully). You should stay because the little arguements are at times exciting. You should stay because you are an ANGRY PSYCHO!...there are 5 reasons. You summed up a lot of what I've been thinking in this e-mail. I agree--some people want to just speak their mind. Please stay. I am trying to ignore you, but this needed to be exposed for what it is, an out of context misquote. In other words, Sp00ks normal drivel.
