Shame that those two faced people are also the ones that have personal contact with Poe, but then again thats probably why they do have personal contact, because they know how to talk the talk. Honesty and truth tend to scare people off. I have to agree with your sentiments on the situation. It is pretty crappy that we can't get some communication and get this booked. I see no reason they can't book this as they would any other promotion and schedule any other events around it. Barring anything like a tour no reason our event can't happen. We are booking her as a legit organization. Not simply some fan group. It would be nice if Poe had the decency to communicate on this. I would think also being genuine in her statements that we are family to her and how special we are to her that she could commit to a non professional appearance if their are business legal issues with her appearing. She could simply just show up at show or just come to hang out for a birthday bash. I mean who wouldn't want to get literally 100's of presents and be entertained on their birthday? It's damn shame how crappy the Angry Psycho's are treated. Were never offered to do anything in a official or promotional capacity with Poe. Even though she claims how special we are to her and how she views us as a family. So Dan don't try and take all the blame for Poe and her staff not dealing with us, Angry Psycho's have been havning smoke blown up their ass for long time going and it's a damn shame someone with the resources,time and effort you have given and can bring to the table is left with the sentiment that you've just been flipped the bird and had door slammed in your face. I will say this, if the person I spoke with is a representation of the typical AP (the label "moocher" comes to mind), I have serious doubts about publically acknowledging that I am an AP. I have had a good experience with Norton so far. My old job totally pissed me 
off because they had a virus and it had sent itself to me (shame shame, if i 
hadn't checked my email at work i never would have known) so i told and it 
took our anal VP more than a month to do something about it and then it was 
this huge deal. i don't use outlook so my only real problem with viruses is 
downloading stuff and after changing all of my settings to super paranoid and 
using norton i've gotten ... 3 but they were all caught before anything 
happened. i am now checking my boss's new email and i don't know what she has 
set up but she uses outlook and she gets tons of messages everyday that say 
"so and so sent you a message that contained this virus please contact them 
and ask them to resend the message after they have gotten rid of it" which i 
like because i'm not a big fan of outlook b/c of the preview thing. and i 
agree that yahoo mail works pretty well for keeping viruses out, i found the 
one from my old work because it lets you scan before you open. nice. Shari

In all fairness to Poe's people, THEY were being very cooperative and
appropriate.  Think of England really wants to open and have a lot more
control over themselves then Poe did at the point we started working on this
last Fall.  Few artists will book anything farther then 3-4 months out,
especially a single show.

Creative Artists Agency was Poe's booking agents and they said they saw no
reason they could not book Poe for this show but would not be able to confirm
until December.  Nothing wrong with that at all, standard in the industry.

The problem, and my frustration is with Poe not letting us know if she WANTS
to do it or not!  You will recall the planned 9/23 chat last fall.  Poe was
asked if she would do it at dinner in August and she agreed and said to
schedule it with Patrick at Nettwerk.  Patrick said he would "pencil it in
for that date" and I announced it. I had him on audio tape so he had to back
off his initial denial.  Poe never did admit that Paul Fishkin, Patrick
Pocklington and she discussed this prior to that time and she personally
approved it, though no date had been set at that point.

9/11 happened and two concerts ended up being canceled around that time,
appropriately.  Numerous calls and emails went unanswered to Nettwerk about
if Poe would still do the chat or not.  Next we heard was her echo on p-o-e
blasting me for not going thru the proper channels.

The only reason I am bringing this up again is I feel deja vue... I notified
all the right people, had all the right tentative approvals for Vegas but the
most important approval remains silent ----Poe!

Still I felt comfortable ( kinda) proceeding cause we were working with her
booking agency and would have a signed contract at the appropriate time well
in advance...4 months before the show.

Now she has fired her booking agent to, so I feel like I am VERY naked again!
 I feel that it would not hurt her to say yes, no or maybe...she knows about
it, I know that for a FACT but she has not telegraphed her feelings at all.
I can FEEL it coming that at the last minute she will point the finger at me
again and say SEE!!! He is doing it AGAIN!!!

Fuck that!!!

The Vegas thing will happen.  I will be talking to RAINN and the Vegas
promoter and find out if they are still on board if we have an alternative
performer, I have some GREAT ideas....even if TOE is the headliner it will be
a blast.  I talked to my buddy with the charter service and we can still use
the 737 for East Coast APs that would want to come.

If Poe wants to come, she is welcome, but I will NOT be set up again!

Consider this drama or consider this once burned twice shy (make that 8
times shy, if we consider the passes and sound checks for the DM shows that
never happened except out of my own pocket and the Los Angeles AP concert in
June canceled for an MTV shoot at the last minute) it matters NOT to me, I am
just covering my butt and trying to do ONE last fun thing for my friends on
the list and BBS(s) and anyone else that want to come.

Nope,  no details from me, I was happy when a couple days went by ant that
post was ignored, wish  it could have stayed ignored, but thank you for
posting an answer to it ( now duck after he reads it).

As for what people say about me, I ask everyone to just let it go.  I HAVE
been a drama queen, though I have tried my best to do good.  I have a lot of
feelings and I show them easily, but they are genuine and they are sincere
and I can honestly look in the mirror and say I did good stuff and if people
don't like it fuck them!  And that INCLUDES my "friends" who were at that
show and Poe if she is part of it.

On the other hand many HAVE appreciated what I have done and will remain my
friends forever I hope.

If any of you have ANY respect for me at ALL please say what you want in
PRIVATE mail, if any of you feel compelled to go on about how fucked up I am
go for it, I don't CARE! I think you are pretty pathetic.  Some involved in
that conversation I have done much for.  I do believe in Karma and I am happy
about what mine will bring...anyone else will have to ponder their own.

I have used strong language in this post, but it is not angry language, it is
factual language.  I am not leaving the APs,  I am just  not going to go out
of my way for anyone else and I will not be seeking or reporting Poe news and
stuff any more. I will listen to the music, buy the CDs for me and my
friends, go to the shows and hang out with my friends and go somewhere fun
AWAY from the venue after the show.

Anyway..it is my hope this thread will die, we shall see.
