I am not offended by the photo, not do I feel that it is an accurate picture of what's going on. Poe is just a person. That's it. I love her music (TOTALLY) but when it comes down to it, even many of the APs who have met her don't really know her, myself included. Yes we are a loyal fan base but as someone else said, she doesn't owe us anything. The problem with putting someone up on a pedestal is that there is only one way for them to go... down. I like to think that my 26 years as a paramedic and 24 years as a father I have shown the same kind of caring and feeling in what I am good at. People say that Poe does not OWE us anything....that is BULLSHIT, and she knows it! If it were not for her fans buying her records and coming to her concerts, buying her merch she would by just another incredibly talented singer in the shower. People that perform for other people are NOTHING without fans..... Don't get me wrong, I am not saying they are not talented, I am not saying they could not have success if their whole fan base dumped them maybe they could make a whole NEW fan base. That is not the point. The point is that it is fans buying "stuff" that "make" an artist famous. Most famous painters a poor and UNfamous till after they die! Few performers pay back what they "owe" to their fans. Few even respect them. Poe has ALWAYS excelled at that! She still does to a diminished respect, but still more then many. I love Poe and respect her TALENT as much as I ever has. She is taking care of her new breed of fans well, as she did with you, Miki and Radon in Denver. You have talked to me, you more then some others that don't know me should KNOW how much I care about Poe and how much I care about her fans!!! Look, I loved my wife. I WORSHIPED my wife. But sometimes my wife would fuck up and I would yell at her. Sometimes it would be me fucking up and she would yell at me. But we ALWAYS, ALWAYS no matter HOW angry we were at each other we respected and talked to each other. And we always worked out our problems and moved on. Poe is fucking up. You may not think so, you may not KNOW it but she is hurting HERSELF most and some of us that have put in HUGE amounts of work for her are feeling the pain I am . But that is not enough!!!! She has to say bad things about us publicly to people we care about....and that hurts. It hurts like HELL! Does that mean that there is not a single good bone in her body??? HELL NO!!!! She is still sweet and wonderful as she has EVER been and I love her as much....but she has hurt me BAD!!! She has hurt people I care about BAD!! And for right now she doesn't seem to give a damn. I will do anything I can to help either, INCLUDING saying things that need to be said...but will not be very popular. I went to see Jonatha Brooke at the Keswick Theater out in Glenside, PA last night. OH MY GAWD! What a show! For those of you who've never hear of her, she was formerly one half of the group, "The Story" and is an amazing vocalist and guitarist. So get off your asses and check her out! She opened fully acoustically with "West Point" before moving on to "Red Dress" and the band came in halfway through the second song. She played for TWO HOURS! And did three, count em', THREE encores, ending with "So Much Mine". Then signed CD's and T-shirts after the show. All in all an amazing experience. If you ever get a chance to see her live, do so. You won't regret it.
