Also good reading is anything by Terry Pratchett. If you don't go for scifi, check out Caleb Carr's murder mysteries, they're pretty good. For nonfiction try Backstage Passes by Angela Bowie. The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie is also good, if a bit confusing the first time through. As for being in Austin, I don't live there, but I have friends who do. I hear the hip hop and punk scenes are pretty big down there. Go to a concert. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Jan 2002 02:18:01 -0600 From: "j." I called this mail "Demon Meringue"...Hin... That was a bad joke ! But read: this will be a good mail... Thanks to P(*)E who had a very gentle way to send us her greetings. That Holiday Song surely is not her best, but it is a nice idea, anyway. We fans were in need of something new, coming from her, and we've got it. But guess what !!!It makes me want some more... You know... That song, "How long"...I love it, music & lyrics... There are different live versions floating here and there on the web, which you can find as well on the Navelsex page. They come from live performances, and are really good. Even the recording quality is not that bad, for a live recording. But I'm dreaming of a good studio version... Either with or without Cameron Stone... Either acoustic or electric, electronic... No matter... It is a good one, and any version would be a good version !!! (BTW, what has become of "The Funny Her"?)Another one (as a b-side ???) Those guitar parts on Mark's recording of "the house of leaves"... (on which "song"??? oh, forgot!!)they come from "haunted", the song... I love them...and I love that song too... Is there any alternate version of this 'haunted" song ??? Kind of acoustic, or demo, something which would be the same song, but with another sound ??? I'm sure that just a guitar and P(*)E's voice would be enough to make a good version of it. So if P(*), or her mother, or anyone of her friends, or dogs, or... well, anyone in touch with P(*)E... If you read this mail, or a print of it, or ...please tell her... Leaving you now... C.U... Friendly... Hi Micki... That is where the song comes from. It's a great musical, a lot of fun to watch. The character in the movie sings the song in reference to someone calling her fickle. And Dan 90210- congrats!!! I just finally got to check my e-mail this morning after my friend went into labor on Friday. Actually, she went into the hospital Saturday, her water was leaking but she wasn't having any contractions. They put her on Pitocin (eek!!) and she had her little boy at 10:45 saturday night. I took her with me to the Poe show in San Francisco in October, she had a great time. Now we have to wait for a while before we can go out again. Her new little boy is named Corbin Cade. I wasn't home since Friday because I was watching her other boy, Aiden. All in all we had fun, or as much fun as you can have watching movies with a preshooler. His idea of a good time is Blue's clues and Pepsi. Or watching us play Grand Theft Auto 3. He likes to play that too, and beat up people on the game. Anyways, later all.
