I called this mail "Demon Meringue"... Hin... That was a bad joke ! But read: this will be a good mail... Thanks to P(*)E who had a very gentle way to send us her greetings. That Holiday Song surely is not her best, but it is a nice idea, anyway. We fans were in need of something new, coming from her, and we've got it. But guess what !!! It makes me want some more... You know... That song, "How long"... I love it, music & lyrics... There are different live versions floating here and there on the web, which you can find as well on the Navelsex page. They come from live performances, and are really good. Even the recording quality is not that bad, for a live recording. But I'm dreaming of a good studio version... Either with or without Cameron Stone... Either acoustic or electric, electronic... No matter... It is a good one, and any version would be a good version !!! (BTW, what has become of "The Funny Her"?) Another one (as a b-side ???) Those guitar parts on Mark's recording of "the house of leaves"... (on which "song"??? oh, forgot!!) they come from "haunted", the song... I love them... and I love that song too... Is there any alternate version of this 'haunted" song ??? Kind of acoustic, or demo, something which would be the same song, but with another sound ??? I'm sure that just a guitar and P(*)E's voice would be enough to make a good version of it. So if P(*), or her mother, or anyone of her friends, or dogs, or... well, anyone in touch with P(*)E... If you read this mail, or a print of it, or ... please tell her... Leaving you now... C.U... I bought the cd last year and it has an extra beat (I guess you could call it) to it than what I think is the original. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I just finished reading House of Leaves it was a really good book but some parts were a bit of a drag but I wondered how he could of come up with half the stuff he wrote, he's a very talented writer. But my problem now is I don't have another book to read. I really like horror (not a fan of Anne Rice though) and I've read some King novels like The Stand: one of the best books ever, I never thought I'd finish reading it, it took me about 2 and a half weeks but it was never boring (it's amazing to me....), I've read the Shining which was okay and Cujo which was really terrible. I read American Psycho which was really good. I finished LOTR before the movies came out which was good and the movie made it kinda better cause it would skip the traveling parts that had 50 pages of "We're going down a river!" but if they had included all of it the movie would have been 9 hours long if even that short. Speaking of the movie am I the only one disgusted about some of the advertising crap they did for it like those cheap Burger King cups. I realize that they have to do some kind of gimic like that but I really don't see how this movie couldn't have made a bunch of money and if *I* was Tolkien I'd be spinning in my grave over the commercialization of such classic literature, that people could make such easy money off of his hard work. The fact that he wrote an entire book of the history of middle earth to make the other books flow better shows how dedicated he was. I kinda see that same thing in Mark D. but maybe not to that much of an extent. But to get to the point does anyone have any book suggestions? Also does anyone that lives in Austin know of anything fun to do without much money and not have to be drinking age (besides the fact that I hate going to parties and bars etc). I've only lived here for 5 months and I'm used to having a bunch of friends around and living in Houston where there's about 20x more stuff to do and it's spread out better. Now all I get to do on the weekends is go to Houston see my few good friends and stay with my boyfriend, stay here in Austin by myself, or have my boyfriend visit me here but we can't do anything cause of money and I've no idea what to do around here. The Laramie Project is a play written by Moises Kaufman and the members of the tectonic theater project. I borrowed it from my acting teacher and plan to return it to her soon and then I'll go out and purchase my own copy.
