We've got over 2 gigs of Poe stuff (and a new harddrive probably going into the machine when I get back to school to fill). There has been some mirroring, but something more structured needs to get into place. Anyways, I'm just giving a heads up out there, so if anyone has any brilliant ideas, drop me an email. Both of Garbage's last two albums had some good tunes on them, but the newest record, Beautiful Garbage, is a good indication of what they are capable of as a band. All of the songs on this album are expressive, unique, and thought provoking. Garbage has come a long way from when they first started out. Hopefully, they will continue to rise to even new levels of performance in the future. I look foward to seeing where the road leads. :) Manda (ShadowsKeepOnChanging) p.s. I was not a huge Garbage fan prior to this album release. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bad Bender" To: Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 7:11 PM Subject: NPR-Re: Number One Letdown of 2001-NPR > > Let down? I think this new album shows how talented this band is, and that there not scared to explore new territories in the music.. Everything garbage puts out is a masterpiece in my eyes. I think they have a great collaboration of people and talents, and they know how to use this to there advantage.. Everyone gets so "Freaked out" when people try to do something out of there norm. IF they stay the same there not using there abilities to the best of there advantage. All these artist like "no Doubt" hey Gwen got such a positive feedback for there stuff with EVE, and moby she did the right thing buy releasing an album to keep up with that demand. But still has here older stuff for us to love (if you love them, which I do) And well garbage per say didn't do it that way they just wanted to voice themselves more on a variety of topics, and they did so, and its brilliant.. I mean when your really dig deep into some of the songs meanings "cherry lips" based on a 20yr old author JT Leroy author of "Sarah," and "heart is deceitful above all things" He turned tricks from a young age, was abused by grand parents and mother, and when I saw abused I mean Frightfully abused in every freaking sense of the word abuse.. He dressed up as a girl cause his mother thought her tricks would not be threatened by a girl.. I mean its powerful.. And Garbage wrote about him and that's just one way to show how deep, and meaningful group of people with lots of talent are... Sorry for the long winded speech. But I got to support my band. Just like I would support POE.. Of course I know everyone is entitled to there opinions, and thats why I stated mine.. I respect the fact that Garbage is all about exploring new territories in music. I loved the debut album and loved Version 2.0 just the same and both are very eclectic albums. I don't *freak out* by a band's new sound. I will point out specific songs that I don't like on the new album: Androgony, Cherry Lips, Untouchable. Songs that I do like on the new album are Shut Your Mouth, Drive You Home, and Parade. Even if I don't appreciate the new album as much as I appreciate the others, I'm still an avid Garbage fan. I said it was a LETDOWN for Christ's sakes! I didn't say it was the top album I utterly DESPISED. I don't like the new album as a whole as I do the others.
