The Atlanta show was quite possibly the best concert I have ever been to. The venue was extremely personal, I was usually no further than 5 feet from Poe for the entire show. Now I can brag, I got pulled up on stage during Wild, I damn near had a heart attack. Some guy had a big white pimp jacket on and Poe pulled him up on stage too. He put the coat on her and after the song Craig swept her offstage. When she came back out, she asked if he wanted the jacket back, but he gave it to her and pledged his love for her. Poe made several trips out in the audience, one time disappearing into the back of the club, sending Craig scrambling to reign her back in. I liked the set list better for this show, a good mix of old and new songs. I'm half-deaf and running on only 4 hours sleep, but it was worth it. Think of England was great, they have a good future, hopefully a record label will notice their talent. The after party was a little sparse, but Rusty was making the best of it with a good mix of Poe multimedia through the club. I had to leave early, so I don't know if Poe showed up at the club, but I'm doubting it. She is due in New Orleans tonight and I'm sure Craig will get her there. I had made my own Poe shirt for the show, and had a few people try to buy it from me. I confess I did sell the extra one I made (for $3, the cost of the shirt itself), but I didn't want to cut into the real Poe merchandise. Speaking of Craig, I talked to him before the show. He said he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him, and he shouldn't. He has a job to do, and he does it well. He was civil to me, he's just a person doing his job, not the anti-Christ. Overall it was a great time. One thing Poe did say was the next time she comes around she will have 20 new songs, so there is no doubt as to her music going forward. Now its time for more coffee.... Anywho, I just wanted to say thank you to all the APs who came to the NY show, because you guys are so awesome and helped make it the BEST birthday I have ever had. Of course, we can't forget that a large portion of this is due to Poe, who is without a doubt the most phenomanal performer I have ever seen in my entire life. Although I'm a 5 or 6 year fan and a 3 (almost 4!) year AP, this is the first time I actually got to see Poe perform. Let me tell you, (and anyone who saw me plant myself directly in front and not move during the entire show can verify this) I was in happy, blissful shock the entire time. I could do nothing but stare at Poe with this big goofy grin on my face singing every word to every single song she sang. AND, I was the first person she touched once she started performing (go me!). Awesome, awesome, awesome show. AND (I'm a theater person, I have to be dramatic), when I met her afterwards, she was such a fabulous person. I'd heard from a lot of people that she's really down the earth and cool and stuff, but she just blew me away (no pun intended). I was so happy that she signed my collage that I've had for forever, and I plan to get it laminated, not to mention blow up the picture I got with me her and Missy. By the by, we made an AP out of another longtime Poe fan. Missy, my friend of 4 years, RA, and fellow Poe fan will be joining us shortly on the digest version, and she's the one who accompanied me to the show. She just wanted me to let you guys know what a great time she had hanging out with you. I really hope we can have another AP gathering, because you guys are really fab-oo. Alright, that's all the babble I have for now. Psycho Hugs, Cara P.S. I just wanted to say this show was everything I expected and more. I've only been listening to Poe since this May, the first time I saw her was at Jones Beach this summer when she opened up for DM, but I absolutely LOVE her and was dying to meet her. The VU venue is wonderfully intimate. I was so flattered when she dedicated Beautiful Girl to me, after I yelled out a comment, and she asked who said it, and when I answered, she said, "this one's for MELISSA!" AHHH...I was content with just that, so you can imagine how I felt when I met her. My boyfriend and I happened to be sitting next to some people that worked for the Pantene Pro-V Promo...we had some drinks with them, chilled out, and before you knew it, PASSES...YEAHHH!!! Anyway, I have nothing but good things to say about Craig. He actually let me sit next to her as she signed autographs for everybody else. We talked, took pictures...It was a dream come true! My only other comment is that they should've kept it 21 and over.......TOOO many rude, snotty kids up by the stage. Now that I have a cd burner ::thank god:: I wanted to make a compilation of PoE tracks that arent on Hello or Haunted. I already have Padre Fear downloaded, but I don't know what else there is. Can you guys email me and tell me what to get? I tried looking her up on WinMX but you never know if it's her or someone imitating her and I don't want to waste time downloading imposters or mislabeled MP3s. PLEEEEEASE help, I'm on a PoE rampage this week. *lol* Thanks in advance... ~Joanna (aka Kittie) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2001 22:55:59 EST From: DearAngryJohnny@aol.com Subject: NPR I'm Not a Dork Anymore, just thought you should know.... NO Cameras seems to be the NORM at any show. I kept mine handy in the car. I had one that I was going to sneak in, but my helper left it at home, that would be the same helper that ended up on stage with Poe during "Beautiful Girl" lucky for her, I got her picture with Poe at the WBER studios earlier in the day.. BUT back to the issue of cameras IN the venue. The guy in front of me was leaning on the rail that seperates the crowd from the stage. He was shooting flash pictures and Poe was smiling for him, the same guy ended up on stage for a duet with Poe on "Hey Pretty" my guess is that he did not have a camera pass though. AND the camera he was shooting with was a disposable Kodak so he wasn't a pro either. What the hey, buy a disposable, and take a chance... sp00k etc ... ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V6 #520 ***********************************
