Further, when you think about the target market for Poe, I'm pretty sure females make up a larger proportion than men. They could change this if they wanted to turn her into a sex symbol. Poe is sexy, but we don't want to see her marketed like the next pop sensation (manufactured sex appeal), right? Oh wait, YOU do, because you don't see women as anything other than sex objects. > What a load of crap femanazi bastards.. - -->For all of the ignorant, uneducated, or simply misinformed, feminism does not mean "women rule and men suck". Feminism is about equal rights and opportunities for both sexes, and the recognition of and the importance of gender in society. It's not about hating men, putting down men, or all the traditionalists (militant) would have you believe. It's about women having a CHOICE, about the ability to have as aspired status instead of an ascribed one. It's closed-minded persons who believe that one side wins and so the other side must lose. We can all learn from and gain from each other, allowing everyone to "win". It's not a winner takes all situation, as much as some people would like you to believe it is. Most mid-size/large ISPs have more than one block, and there are ways of changing it. 2.) DSL and Cable broadband providers are hevily diverse in their IP address options. That needs to be checked and addressed depending on the ISP. In any case, I doubt the IP is being blocked... Who knows? I'm still confused about what voice angie is speaking with, and wasn't sure we got this tid bit for our entertainment or as a warning about copyright laws.... it does seem that the tone has been one of corporate officialdom, so yes, I am reading between the lines, and thought I asked a legit question. sp00k etc ... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Nov 2001 04:28:32 +0000 (GMT) From: Cyberfan Corporation Subject: AP Meets - Act II It's not about meeting POE it is about being in support of POE... Since we can't meet, APs MAKE SURE TO HANG BANNERS ON THE FENCES OF THE VENUE MADE OF SHEETS AND SPRAY PAINT - WELCOME POE / APs RULE / LOVE HER / APs RULE... then put a www.angrypsychos.com in sharpie ink PEN so people that want to come up close to the banner can find out more. *** What is also fun... if you have the testies to do it... is hang the sheet on the fence and stand there with a sharpie pen and ask people to sign their name to the banner and say it is for POE, etc. This also helps with security, then they have less desire to make you take the sheet down. BUT offiser, why do I have to take it down... because its a nuisance, kid. "OK - I'll take down my banner to my favorite singer POE, then I am going to run home and look up the spelling of nuisance. I'm also going to look up the spelling of dick,,,, whatever your name is... AND SEE IF THEY MATCH ! ! ! - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear, Angie... Please tell the tour manager to tell each venue's security to keep our banner up. Then collect them as tour momentos and give them to POE... 'might be a nice gesture for the paycheck one gets. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I would also like to propose to the APs and POE that we, the APs, wash her bus at each stop. If it is ten APs that wash the bus, it is easier than two... It can be done and will be done if an AP is involved. I'll tell ya, I'm no rockstar... but to have a sharply cleaned bus when I get off the stage would rule... Driving down the road. Representing myself and my whole tour... POE ! ! ! Take some pride... we can organize a crew cleans the wheels in a city... really shines em' up with armorall, etc. no sorry/// Can't be done/// Security nightmare... You have to be backstage. I GOT IT, we all wear the same Angry Psychos hats that julie made and get hired by POE to clean her bus. Money goes to charity. If we don't get a news story on that idea, we ain't ANGRY PSYCYOS... uck-n-a gang... I propose this as the support we give POE for the tour. Get her name in some press. Let's keep our chin up. *************************************************** JK/// Jarrod Kniff President - Angry Psychos, Inc. jarrod@angry-psychos.com *************************************************** "One important key to success is self-confidence. I reeeaaaallllly have to make it there but could anyone tell me when it starts and where to get tickets from and if they'll be selling them there on the day of the show as well. The site has so much stuff I want on it but what's with that Peace On Earth stuff? I'd like that storm shirt even better if it just said Poe or some lyrics or something...but I'll be sure to let my family know exactly what I want for christmas this year ;) Jess ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Nov 2001 22:26:57 -0500 From: Ed Hunsinger Subject: RE: AP Meets Jesus christ.. what happened to the Poe that had time to hang out, chat, listen and tell stories? The hell with this contest bullshit. I'm about two minutes from just walking away from this whole mess of the busy Poe. I love her music and all, but I'm kind of sick of seeing so much time and effort devoted to being ignored. My girlfriend pointed out a huge difference between the recent Poe outings, and the stories I told her. I'm beginning to see it too. Ten minutes with fans after a show is too much to ask? All this super special contest winner crap. Tori has a huge fan base and a busy tour, yet she still finds time to hang out and at least say hi to fans. Wake up! this is how to build and keep a fan user base!! Personal conection. The appeal of mass media fades over time. It needs that personal connection in order to keep it strong in the mind of an audience. Had I not had a personal connection to Poe, would I have cared or even looked forward to a second album after such a long time? probably not, just like so many other bands that I enjoy but do not devote time, energy, money, effort to. I also find it concerning that a lot of the people that have devoted a lot of their lives to Poe have found themselves disenchanted with many different aspects over time. I hope this is not a trend that will continue. I enjoy running poe.navelsex.com and checking my listmail and the occasional (although not frequent enough) drop by #poe. I do not enjoy the "Hey, email these 50 radio stations and get Poe some airplay so she can do a ton of shows and hop from city to city too quickly to even spare a few minutes to say hi to some devoted fans, but has time to hang out with random people who register on some message board." Bring back the old Poe, the one that had decent airplay, enjoyed performing, enjoyed the time with the fans, and had devoted fans. I remember a Poe in Richmond that had to be physically carried away so she could do her set. I remember a Poe that took several hours to hang out at a small apartment to hav ea few drinks and chat with people. Maybe I can look forward to hanging out with Cody, he's always been cool and likes chatting, and probably could spare some time without having to win a contest. :P - -----Original Message----- From: owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org [mailto:owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org]On Behalf Of angie Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2001 9:14 PM To: Angry-Psychos@smoe.org Subject: AP Meets Due to the back to back nature of the tour dates for the entire month, on into December, Poe will not be able to meet with AP's aside from the contest winners. 11.20.01--New Orleans/House of Blues and ---- 11.30.01-- Sacramento/Boardwalk are confirmed.
