Don't eat when your stomach 'growls'. That could mean almost anything. Try eating only when it starts hurting. Really. That is a good signal of true hunger. It's called 'fasting' when you go and your belly hurts, and can be a great way to beat depression too. Honestly. The 'eating when I feel faint' is not a bad idea at all (at least if your clock tells you it's been very long since your last meal. You shouldn't feel 'hunger faint' unless you haven't eaten in at least half a day. Really. If you do, you need to adjust that 'thermostat' as well in my opinion. Mind you this is only if one wishes to acheive a more 'natural' (ie optimal and efficient) body pattern and eating style. It's not skinny nor very fat....and it enables one to carry one's own weight very easily, and I believe your balance can be improved that way as well. Naturally, how much you eat at a 'meal' is important too. Stopping when one feels 'full' works for me. One needs also appreciate how 'heavy' the food is. "Heavier" foods are difficult to 'burn' (biology term) in your belly, so they are 'stored' as fat on and in your body. Too much of that 'storage' weight, and you lose efficiency. Lol. THat's my belief on the subject. Hope someone is helped by it. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Oct 2001 00:09:57 EST From: JaunasAddiccion@aol.com Subject: Re: Npr: Re "beautiful women" month. Ok, I was jsut gonna be quiet about this one, let it all go unanswered...but you're not that lucky, and I'm not that sane, so here goes... There's this movie coming out soon called Shallow Hal, for those who haven't heard of it, it's a delightfully stereotypical crap film about this guy who only dates the "embodiments of physical perfection" until he is hypnotized and made to see the inner beauty and judge people based on that. He meets a woman who is obese and sees in her....Gwyneth Paltrow?!?!?!?!! So by now you've all deleted this crappy email so I really have no reason to continue, but I will anyway :] This does so littel for my hope for humanity. Does the inner beauty of everyone look like Paltrow? That frightens me...What if inside I look like her too? That doesn't work for me since I'm a guy. Does mine look like Arnold Schwarzennegar or Sylvester Stallone? I hope not either, since people have a lot more to contribute to life than just the way they look... There is no end to stereotypes, there is no sensible use for them, as they ony promote hatred & jealousy in the world but the easiest way to make ones self feel better is the comparison of how society judges one as opposed to the other. My big thing is the idea that this whole thing even went this far...makes me kinda wish we had a Duece Bigalow around... ok, i need to go take down some antisemitic display i saw earlier today cause I can't stand that either, so I'm off to the big dumb evil shallow stereotypical world to make my little dent in evil, unless the cops decide I shouldn't be doing it - ---tinfoil dan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Oct 2001 01:25:26 EST From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR: imma a new angry psycho! not because she sucked, but rather a change in the music industry. nirvana was HOT and pop was NOT. she is obviously a very talented lady, as she went on to sign with EMI [which went out of business about a year after she signed with them], she has had a very successful theater career - on and off broadway, and has recently begun her own record label, releasing 2 albums independently. not to mention her vast collection of dance single over the recent years. jewel is signed to atlantic records. they drove their limo down to the san diego coffee house she was selling out and put her in the back of the limo & asked her to sign some papers [very mofia-like don't you think?]. they were going to drop her after "pieces of you" was first considered a commercial failure. she got in her car with her guitar & toured the country relentlessly, as if she were an independent un-signed artist, selling cd's out of her trunk. the only catch was, these cd's were official atlantic records produced discs... but she was determined NOT to be a failure. she was cute & could sing, and this "alternative" state of music had mtv's kennedy asking marilyn manson "who will save your soul?". the cd went on to sell over 10 million copies, now atlantic will lick jewel's toes... new newest cd, "this way" was recorded in nashville by several well know nashville producers... but not ones who produced any pop music.. jewel said "my record company was scared i 'gone country', and were gonna drop me". tori amos is signed to atlantic records. they have actually done very well with/for her. however, back in the day it was a different story. after a traumatic experience with a failed rock band, they told her her songs [some of which appeared on 1992's "little earthquakes"] just didn't fit an american audience. so they shipped her over to the UK, and this is where the career we all know as "tori amos" began. i found an article today that prompted this entire email. looks like it's a possibility that tori may be leaving atlantic in the near future. epic records must be holding the key to the universe for her, as i know she "has complete artistic freedom" at atlantic. i am a huge tori fan myself, and many people have asked me what i thought about this latest album on atlantic, "strange little girls". i respond with "it's alright, the covers are nothing new, she's been doing them all along. i really like the beatles cover, "happiness is a warm gun" due to it's epic like feel, but other than that, this album, this tour, almost seem like a contract agreement.. not something she really planned to do". well... that was basically confirmed today. she did it to finish her contract to get that step closer to either re-negotiating her contract, or leaving the label all together. poe is also on atlantic as we all know. don't you find it strange that a group of fans must organize them selves, then incorporate themselves... that they feel like they MUST... to be in a position to "bid" for promotional projects atlantic records may hire other people for???? this is SERIOUS dedication by a fan base.... nothing i have ever seen before. with the last album, 1995's "hello", poe toured for 2 years straight. her album went gold, selling over 50,000 copies. this was due because she worked her ass off. went to every city 3 and 4 times, visiting as many radio stations at the butt crack of dawn as her health would allow. meeting every fan. and i mean, every fan. over the past year, she has been to her fans house's to show her love for them, as she again, takes on the task of pleasing atlantic records. we first got a joint "acoustic" tour of border's books & music stores in novemeber of 2000. this was in part with her brother, mark z. danielewski, who is the author of best-selling "house of leaves". so, i am sure atlantic did not foot the bill for the entire tour. mark's publishing company may have also paid some expenses. then during the summer of 2001, she got to tour with depeche mode, playing to some of her biggest audiences yet. again, atlantic had little work to do here. the tour was already booked, the promotion was already done. poe just needed to show up & play her heart out. now she finally has a solo tour of her own. poe will be embarking on a small US tour of clubs, headlining her own gigs for the first time in years. the tour was booked very quickly, almost at the last minute. this may be due in part to 9.11. atlantic has actually made phone calls to radio stations telling them "not to play poe, but rather..." some other alterna-all-male band we are currently promoting. we shall see what happens. poe is going out on the road with no current single on the air waves, and album that is a year old, and a support act that no one has ever heard of before. it's up to her, her band, and her fans - the angry-psychos - to make this tour a success. instead of the "angry-psychos" incorporating themselves, why don't we spend the money & start our own record label?
