Nettwerk has been doing a good job for Poe so I hope there is not a problem, and I doubt that there is one. That and I feel that we as APs have a good working relationship with Nettwerk, even though the beginning was rushed for everyone. Remember these guys came on DAYS before the DM tour began and were in the middle of some major stuff for Dido, Sarah M, and Barenaked Ladies all on tour or with projects going at the same time they were ramping up for Poe. Poe's manager also manages Dido and BOTH were on MAJOR tours and in the early stages. "America" is bad because it was a mapmaker named Amerigo Vespucci who tought it'd be neat to name a whole new hemisphere after himself, a place he never visited. Columbia would be bad because Columbus is not the first to "discover" the place, plus of the devastation he brought to the continents. Leif Ericson was before Columbus, but he didn't really discover either. Maybe we should name it after a Native American word? But there are so many different different languages, so to choose one (or even two) would be to privelege one tribe over another. I thought then maybe Latin or Greek, for land or earth. But then, that goes back to the priveleging of Western languages. SO. I rename the two continents, formerly known as North and South America. One shall be Noolah, the other Munwa. Either one, doesn't really matter. They are hopefully phonetically easy for most people of the world to pronounce, and are meaningless. Should I work up a petition? The movie was How to Make a Monster about this game company whose game takes over and starts killing everyone. Here's the Poe tie-in: end credits had Control playing, well worth it for that crap. Does Poe have any knowlege of this or is that all the record company's decision? ===== Adahlfin Make a great connection at Yahoo! The movie was How to Make a Monster about this game company whose game takes over and starts killing everyone. that reminsd me of this short film i saw called The Game, it was about this video game tester that gave bad reviews, and one company took it to heart, and the next one they sent him was tied in to reality. he ended up using the game's character to kill himself. it wasn't that good and they didn't play Poe in it. it was french too, but that didn't make it any worse, it was already bad. - ---tinfoil dan ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2001 00:00:25 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR: Over The Rhine In a message dated 10/11/2001 10:36:10 PM Eastern Daylight Time, JaunasAddiccion@aol.com writes: > I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of this band, they're playing > a few shows in Ohio this weekend, and I'm planning to make the trip down to > see them, wondering if I may see any other APs down there, anyway, if you > haven't heard of them, check them out www.overtherhine.com they have a few > MP3s you can download to get a sense of their sound. > ---tinfoil dan > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > They are a great Cincinnati band! I'm not a Libra, or a Scorpio. Hey. My birthday's not even close to October. But everyone else is talking about birthdays and ages, and I was feeling left out. See, I'm 21, so this is like the last year that I will be happy to tell you my age, so I just wanted to take part in this little conversation before I wasn't 21 anymore. And as for spooky songs..
